Hey everyone
not written on here for a while…but not had much to write about until recently!!
Last weekend was my first race of the season and only second since September and I couldn’t have picked a bigger one if Id tried. Me and my family travelled to Langrish for the first MXY2…what a track!! I must admit it looked a bit daunting and even more so when I walked it…you had to have strong legs for the hills, my dad gave up and went back to the van for a cuppa and a rest!
After a bad nights sleep (nerves and a transit with NO heating…not good) it was race day…qualifying was good and I really liked the track once I had ridden it, Im not sure what I qualifed I think it was 5th.
I had a rubbish start in the first race..my back wheel just spun and I couldn’t get out of the gate..I worked my way back to 6th which I was ok with.
I messed up the start again in the 2nd race..the front wheel just came up and I just thought that’s it im gonna flip it!!! ( look at the photo on my facebook !!) but I managed to put it down and had a good race..I felt comfortable and really enjoyed it..I had a 3rd in that one.
Overall I had 3rd which everyone seems pleased about..I had to say a few words on the podium ( thank you to the ACU academy for the media training) had a nice trophy and got a close up view of the maxxis girls.
I must just say a big thank you to Alfie and Colin Smith and to Jamie Stephens and his family as on the way home our unheated transit decided to break down and if it wasn’t for their help I would probably still be pushing the thing home!!!!!!! If anyones got a nice warm motorhome going spare I wont say no haha
Tuesday just gone I went with the ACU academy and Mark Hucklebridge on a training day to Mildenhall..we concentrated on starts…cornering and just getting a feel for the track ready for the BYMX this weekend.
Id like to just say a big thank you to Team green for all their support and to Ross of moto pro for setting up my suspension!!
Get well soon Dan and Brad!!!!!!!!!
