This weekend will see the spectacular Monterosato di Fermo circuit play host to the third round of the motocross world championship.
The Husqvarna Motocross Team By Ricci Racing will be hoping for a repetition at home of the fine performance put on at the Bulgarian GP. Hopes for the two races are high for Alessandro Lupino in particular, from whom more consistent performances are expected after having proved himself able to compete with the top riders.
Fermo with its hard, technical jump-filled track is well-suited to the Italian riders keen to show their worth in front of the home crowd. The aim this year: consistent top ten finishes in every MX2 world championship race.
The Italian track will also be a test for Frenchman Loic Larrieu still unable to find his best form after two rounds of the world championship, in which he has failed to finish in the points.

Alex Lupino: “I don’t like to make predictions, especially like the ones I made for Bulgaria! I like the Fermo track and I had a good race there last year too. I’d like to repeat the second of the Bulgarian races, but this time in both heats. There’ll be a lot of fans to cheer us on and I’d like to put in a good performance for them. ”

Loic Larrieu: “I’m still not on form and I’m lacking a bit of speed. I’ll have to work more on the starts where I’ve made too many mistakes up until now. I’m hoping to redeem myself at Fermo and have a good race. Finishing in the points in both races would be enough to give my moral a boost. ”

Pierluigi Zampieri – Husqvarna R&D Racing Manager : “After the sixth place in the second Bulgarian race, it’d be great to see our riders in the first ten of the home GP. I honestly believe that after all the development work that’s gone in, that our bike has improved considerably, and we should be able to get results at all the tracks. We are continuing to work hard and are busy preparing some new changes for the summer races. “
