Arenacross UK track design for the London O2 Arena

Want to know what the track’s going to be like for the opening round of the 2013 Arenacross tour at The O2 on January 12? Well Rich Winkler of track-building giants Dirt Wurx USA has just sent us his blueprint and – as you can see – it’s going to be a jump-strewn, super-technical circuit with killer whoops, evil rhythm sections and a monster triple.

Around 120 truckloads – or 2200 tonnes of dirt – will be needed to  construct the track and Rich and his team reckon it’ll take two days to build and half-a-day to tear down, load up and ship out…

“We use these drawings to lay out the course prior to construction,” explains Rich who’s also currently designing and constructing the track for the AMA SX series opener at Anaheim. “Nothing is really ad-libbed but we do make small changes or adjustments on-site if something looks like it’s not going to fit well or if an idea occurs to us that would make for another line or choice for the racers.”
