While riding at Mepal on 14th Feb`, Nicolas Aubin had an uncharacteristic crash in which he sustained a serious injury to his right leg.
Nico` and the team worked hard to have him back on the track for Saturday`s final supercross round at the LG Arena and the French star put his pain aside and rode superbly throughout the night.
After five days rest and continued physio` and after a brief riding session yesterday (Thursday) afternoon, the decision was made by the team manager to withdraw Aubin from the Hawkstone Park International race this weekend (26th Feb`).
D.T – “We are all very disappointed to pull Nico` out of the Hawkstone race. This race has always been on our calendar and it would have served as a great stage on which to introduce Nicolas Aubin on a Buildbase Honda 250.
As team manager, I have to look at the big picture and balance this whole situation. Nicolas is on form, fit and strong and I will not let a small injury at this stage effect his overall season. Sometimes I have to make tough decisions.
We have a three rider MX2 team for a very good reason and both Ryan Houghton and Jordan Booker have been working very, very hard over the winter period in preparation for this season. They are both very fit and on form, the bikes are all working well and as a team, we are sure we will still be in the mix when the gate drops on Sunday.
Nicolas will be fully fit and back in action at the first round of the Maxxis British Motocross Championship at Fat Cat Motopark on March 11th.
Of course we still look forward to seeing you at Hawkstone this weekend”.
