This incredible training event is exclusive to Honda youth riders (both national and club level) as part of the Xtreme Academy programme. The Xtreme Academy championships run alongside each national youth series for CRF150R Honda machines, and with a substantial prize fund on offer, peer mentoring and support from former GP winner, Jorgensen, it’s a special initiative demonstrating Honda’s commitment to helping youngsters develop as racers. In the UK the Xtreme Academy runs with the ACU BYMX 85cc big wheel series and was won last year by Adam Sterry.
Former Grand Prix winner, Honda rider, British and multi-time Danish Champion Brian Jorgensen has been traveling around Europe helping CRF150R riders as the official Xtreme Academy coordinator and will be demonstrating on a CRF450R machine while tutoring riders throughout the day. The groups will be split and work around sections of the track with each of Honda’s pro racers on all aspects of bike riding, technique, race preparation and general fitness.
The Thoresway Honda Motoparc track is located in Lincolnshire is comparable to the famous Foxhill circuit on natural terrain with a range of obstacles, downhill sections and tabletop jumps. It’s certainly going to be an exciting day for Honda riders with Honda World Motocross factory riders Goncalves with 2010 British Champion Bobryshev, and former champions Simpson and Anderson putting something back in at the grass roots of the sport by helping Honda’s junior riders. It really doesn’t get much better than having six professional riders and three full-time current Grand Prix riders help with your riding!
Rev Racing, the UK’s Honda Xtreme Academy representative, which is present at each of the BYMX rounds, will also be working with riders during the day with its trainers and offering CRF150R big wheel and small wheel tryouts for riders who are not yet on a Honda.
This exciting event is firstly open to entries from Honda CRF150R big wheel and small wheel riders at both club or national level aged up-to 16 years old.
