The Cusses Gorse track near Salisbury in Wiltshire will see the fifth round of the ACU Express Insurance British Youth Motocross Championship arrive at the circuit this weekend the 18th – 19th July.

Following an excellent last round at Dean Moor organised by the West Cumbria Motocross Club, the hosts for this event, Hucklebridge Events, are sure to keep the ball rolling and put on an excellent weekend of racing. Hucklebridge Events is run by ex British and GP rider Mark Hucklebridge and his wife Emma.

Aside from the racing there will be a load of other activities to keep everyone entertained young or old, like a funfair, face painting, circus workshop, Karaoke, hog roast, fair trade coffee and tea, plus a book sale organised by Oxfam.

Par Homes Youth Open

Current leader of this class, Danger UK rider Josh Waterman will be on a high after his exploits at the European Championships recently where he finished on the podium in both races. Also with just one round to go before he becomes the 2009 MXY2 Champion in the British Maxxis series, Josh will be on his guard after losing two races at the previous rounds to Luke Hawkins and Daniel McCanney. He will also have to watch out for a few others including Connor Walkley and Jack Rowland who also showed well at the previous round.

Waterman leads from Rowland in second by 110 points, with McCanney just 35 points adrift of Rowland in third. Walkley is in fourth place just 18 points from McCanney and 43 points in front of Ewan McLaren who always goes well on the hard pack tracks like Cusses Gorse. Watch out for Par Homes rider Luke Hawkins he will always be there among the melee and he will want to be up there taking the wins off Waterman and the rest.

Big Wheel 85

Another Danger UK rider who also went well in Europe, finishing in fourth and sixth, was current leader in the Big Wheel class Ryan Houghton. He has as a slender lead of 80 points coming into this round over second placed Jake Millward who rode his heart out at Dean Moor to clinch the second overall there.

Sunny Thompson is in third place just eight points behind Millward and only 15 points ahead of Nathan Watson. This class looks like it will go down to the last round at Foxhill, as all the top riders go well on this type of circuit, and all will want to win this weekend. Also look out for the other riders who could upset the apple cart, those being Luke Norris and Ben Howell who are in with a shout.

Par Homes Small Wheel 85

Series leader in this class Par Homes rider Ben Watson will want to forget the last round and the loss of his 100 per cent record to second place man Callan Cooper who took his first overall at Dean Moor. Watson will want to regain his record at Cusses Gorse and keep his lead in the championship, but Cooper will want to win again to bring down the 80 point lead Watson has at the moment. But saying that the racing will be just about these two is a bit premature, as Connor Clark, Tom Neal and a host of other riders could mix things up at the end of the day, so this will be one class to watch for sure.

Cobra Junior 65

This is another class to keep an eye on as Conrad Mewse try’s to extend his lead in the championship from Henry Williams and Sid Evans who both gave him a hard time last time out. Mewse currently leads Williams by 79 points, with Evans just 74 points behind Williams. Also in the mix will be Connor Hughes, Will Keogh, Jack Camwell and a host of other riders, let’s see who can up their pace to take the battle to Mewse. Mewse will be up for it after his display at Mildenhall earlier in the season on this type of track.

Adult Clubman Junior and Expert

The main two in the Clubman Junior Class Zac Stealey and Peter Eccles will once again be at each others wheels to try and take the wins, Stealey leads at the moment by 83 points from Eccles, but Eccles will want to reduce the lead by getting some wins. Gary Pottenger the oldest member out there lies third in the championship and some 235 points behind the top two, so he will want to stay in third, while his son Ryan will come up against some top local talent in the Experts class and hoping to retain his lead in the Experts class.
