The Italian superstar Tony Cairoli once again showed awesome speed, control and determination to walk away with two outstanding wins here at the GP of Limburg, even the Belgium commentator said he’s the “King of Lommel.”
None of the Belgium sand specialists could get anywhere near him, riders such as Ramon, Desalle and De Dycker had to watch him disappear in the sunset.
KTM team mate Max Nagl managed to hold off the efforts of Clement Desalle for runner up with Desalle staying ahead of Monster Yamaha’s David Philippaerts for third.
In MX2 Ken Roczen took his first overall GP with a 1-2 racecard from Jeffrey Herlings who showed a clean pair of heels in moto 2 to beat the little German by 7 seconds. Current MX2 world championship leader Marvin Musquin didn’t have enough speed to challenge for the win here today but still did enough for third.
Rider of the weekend this week is a tough one to call, Jake Nicholls moto 2 race was outstanding coming from near dead last to finish 12th and Josh Coppins was exact same in his second moto to finish 8th – so its a share of the chocolate hobnob trophy this week – well done both.
