Continuing on from what can only be described as a stellar 2009 to date, Cam Sinclair has his sights set on top spot, for this weekend’s fourth round of the Red Bull X Fighters series in Madrid, Spain.
The X Fighters is arguably the most prestigious Freestyle Motocross championship in the world, Madrid will host the penultimate round of the series this Saturday night (July 18) with the final round being held in London on August 22. Currently Sinclair sits in sixth place overall, due to missing round two in Canada because of Crusty Demons of Dirt Tour commitments.
The last round held in Fort Worth, Texas, saw Sinclair make history with the first ever double backflip landed in a competition run; despite injuring his ankles in the process, the 25 year old still managed a credible third place overall result.
Thanks to extensive physio therapy upon returning home to Botanic Ridge in Victoria, Sinclair says he is ready to take the next step and bring home his first ever X Fighters victory.
“In Texas, I was a little nervous about landing the double flip, so the rest of my run wasn’t quite as good as it could be; going into this weekend in Madrid I am more than ready to ride my best and push hard for the win!” Cam Sinclair said.
This past weekend, Sinclair performed yet another perfect double flip in front of 20,000 screaming Spaniards in Mallorca, an island off the mainland of Spain (See Pic Attached). A strong result in Madrid, would be perfect preparation for Sinclair leading up to the X Games in LA beginning July 29.
“I’m feel awesome for X Fighters this weekend and can’t wait for X Games in LA. I have always dreamt of an X Games medal so I’ll be giving my all to make it happen!” Sinclair said.
