Canada Heights this weekend for Red Bull Pro Nationals

After two great rounds so far at Landrake and Whitby the Red Bull Pro Nationals are now all set for two cracking rounds at Canada Heights over the next month. This weekend is the first of two Pro Nationals at the popular Kent circuit and both events are shaping up to be something special this summer.

Preparations have been going well on the track to get ready for the for the onslaught of race action this weekend that will see the MCF’s Fuchs-Silkolene 2 Stroke, Women’s Nationals and Red Bull Pro Nationals all take place on one action packed weekend. And if that’s not enough going on they’ll also be the certified loonies of the Red Bull X Fighters promotional tour coming along to put on a show right in front of the beer marquee during Sunday.

Jordan Rose of Proppa.com STR Honda will be one rider who will be looking for a strong performance at the Heights.

First up on the weekend will be the hard charging 2 stroke riders as they get down to business for round six of their championship on the immaculately prepared Canada Heights circuit which has been prepped by Justin Barclay as he takes some time out from the GP trail to work his magic on the track. With the lagoon dredged and now completely full for watering the track will be groomed to perfection for a strong line up of 2 stroke riders to let rip, and what a line up it’s shaping up to be. STR Honda rider James Noble will be rolling out the big 500 once again after winning the previous round at Whitby on his debut ride for the team. His teammate Jordan Rose will also be putting in a blast, but probably on a 250. MVR-D Suzuki’s Carl Nunn will be out once again on his 2 stroke and the entire LPE Kawasaki team were set to ride but they are now two riders light after the unfortunate Kristian Whatley with his injured knee and Lewis Rose who broke his leg last weekend, will be sitting out some races for a while. Gordon Crockard will also be working his way back to fitness and dusting off the 2 stroke before working on his rehabilitation at the Pro Nationals the following day. Open class leader and British MXDN team manager Mark Eastwood will be relishing the chance of going at it with non 2 stroke regulars, even at the ripe old age of 38 he still loves the challenge. Luke Hill will keeping it real for all those purists out there, like Noble he’ll be ripping around on his 500cc Service Honda. In the 125cc class TM’s Jim Davies has a healthy lead in the championship now that last year’s Champion David Willet has gone out with a knee injury but he’ll have his work cut out to claim the win. Notably from Jack Brunnell as he comes back from the German championship for another wild card ride.

Also joining the 2 stroke lads on the Saturday will be the girls of the “Girlracer” Women’s Nationals as they line up for their second round. The series has just picked up www.girlracer.co.uk as its title sponsor proving that women’s motocross is on the ascendency and the girls are very much part of the programme. No surprises really that MVR-D’s Natalie Kane leads the way after round #1 with three solid wins. She’s followed by Scotland’s finest Kerry Wilson and then Buildbase CCM’s Alix Dunlop in third. Kiwi import Nikki Scott will looking to improve on her opening round and put a challenge in to be on the podium as she certainly has the speed. The girls have two races on the Saturday but then they have another two on the Sunday that roll into the Red Bull Pro Nationals, effectively giving them a two day event.

Action from the last round.

The Pro National on the Sunday has the best line up to date and bearing in mind the MX1 and MX2 classes are combined with the top 40 fastest riders all going through they’ll no doubt be battling all the way through the field. Brad Anderson and his PAR Honda teammate Scott Elderfield will be lining up to fight and they’ll be joined by James Noble, Jordan Rose and Nathan Parker of the STR Honda team. MVR-D Suzuki will be out in force with Carl Nunn and Matiss Karro along with the Samsung Yamaha duo of alas Smith & Jones (Wayne and Mark). Neville Bradshaw, who won the MX2 class at Whitby will be looking to repeat but he’ll have to work his socks off with the current men on form of the Red Bull KTM UK team of Stephen Sword and Jake Nicholls rocking up to do the business. They’ll also be joined by their teammates Alex Snow and Graeme Irwin. The factory CCM will be making their first appearance of the series with Tom Church and the returning Ray Rowson. CAS Honda’s lone new boy Bryan Mackenzie will also be looking to continue his good form, look for him to grab the holeshot as he seems to have that dialled. Relentless Suzuki will come out swinging with Martin Barr and Scott Columb. Columb now leads the way in the popular Proppa.com Van Slam mini-series, a two lap sprint race where the winner at the end of the year will get the keys to a pimped out VW T5 Transporter van courtesy of Proppa.com. That race is set to be a rip-roarer as the top twenty qualifiers from timed training line up to bang bars for two insane laps.

Add to that all the atmosphere of the beer marquee, the X Fighters demo and the tunes from the Red Bull “Urban Assault” DJ vehicle and it’s going to be a jam packed weekend at the ‘Heights’ all for £10 admission or £20 for a family ticket of four. Then only one month later it’s back there again for round four of the Red Bull Pro Nationals, this time with the future stars of the Red Bull Elite Youth Cup joining the party instead of the Fuchs-Silkolene 2 stroke boys.

The MCF will also be running a 125cc 2 stroke support class on this Sunday at the Pro Nationals and entries are still available. Anyone wishing to enter or with other enquiries about the Fuchs-Silkolene series, “Girlracer” Women’s nationals or Pro Nationals themselves should contact secretary@mcfederation.com or call 01865 342107.
