Coventry Junior Motocross Club report and results

It seems that every time Coventry Junior Motocross rides at Wymeswold it’s sunny and hot, and this weekend it was no different. The track was in great condition, the racing was close and some of the spectators were gradually getting redder as the day went on.

Out first were the Seniors and the front group of riders were great to watch as they battled hard right from the drop of the gate. After a mistake at the beginning of race one, Jamie Scott did well to work his way back through and take the race win. Chase Neale, Conal Glover, Thomas Kennedy, Josh Brame, Jack Weaver were swapping back and forth throughout the race, joined at the end by Damian Osbourne, but they couldn’t all come out on top and it was Chase took second with Conal third. Race two and Jamie learnt from his mistake, making a break from the pack at the front, taking Jack Weaver with him in second. Conal had another great ride to take third. The final race and Jack Weaver had a fantastic ride to take the race win, with Conal working his way into second ahead of Jamie in third. Overall Jamie took the win, Conal took second with Jack third.

Out next were the AMX and the track continued to catch riders out. Seb Osbourne was one of these riders in race one, however this didn’t stop him from taking all three race wins in a spectacular fashion. Ricky Lethaby was riding well, taking second place in races one and two, with Mark Portersec following him through in both races in third. The final race and Darren Carter mixed it up a bit by putting himself into second place. Ricky Lethaby made hard work for himself as he managed to work his way through the pack to take third. Seb took the overall win, Ricky second and Mark third.

Joe Severn started his day well with the race one win in the Open Class. Mitch Bates also had a great ride in second, followed by Paul Longford, who had his best ride of the day in third. Race two and Scott Bates wouldn’t let injury get in his way as he took the race win, with Joe in second and Mitch third. The final race and Scott again had a great ride to take the win, this time Mitch got the better of Joe to take second, with Joe keeping himself in the top three in third. Overall Joe took the win, Mitch second and Scott third.

Big Wheel 85s were next and Gareth Artus was the first to get to grips with the track as he took the race one win with Oli Benton second and Dan Neale working his way into third. In the second race Oli managed to battle into the lead, with Gareth taking second and Nick Gray having a superb ride in third. Oli rounded off his day on a high to take the final race win. Dan did well to follow suit and take second place with Gareth not giving up in third place. Overall Oli took the win, Gareth in second and Dan third.

Mitchell Warhurst was in a league of his own in the first two races for the Small Wheel 85s, taking both race wins. Ben Coleman was also having a fantastic day as he took second place in race one and two, finally grabbing himself the win in race three. JC Verdugo had a brilliant day to take third in race one.  Kyde Marlow just got better throughout the day, taking third in race two and working up to second in race three. Daniel Van Der Hoeven ended his day well in third place in the final race. Ben was the overall winner, with Mitch second and Kyde third.

The Juniors were out next, joined by the only Auto of the day, Lennon Ketnor, who did so well even against the bigger bikes. Lewis Huckerby started his day well, taking the first race win, with Bradley Clark second and Tyrone Brown pushing hard to keep up in third. Callum Green suffered with bike problem in race one but all seemed well as he took the second race win. Lewis held on to second place as Harry Corrin was on fighting form in third. The final race saw Callum again shoot to the front to take the race win, again with Lewis continuing to keep a fast pace in second. Bradley got back into the swing of things to take third place. Overall, Lewis took the win, Bradley second and Callum third.

Best wishes to Travis Read, hope you have a quick recovery and are back riding soon.
