Big news landed on the MOTO news desk this morning concerning CCM and Dave Thorpe, what with Tom Church leaving the team, bikes being stolen from their workshop and now the news team manager Dave Thorpe will leave at the end of the 2011 season the Bolton based outfit are having a tough time of late.

Dave Thorpe
At the end of this 2011 season, I will be finishing my three year association with CCM.

As a company, CCM have managed to design, build and produce a competitive motocross bike and as a team, CCM have raced successfully at National and International level and their achievements over the past few years speak for
themselves.

I would personally like to thank CCM who gave me this unique opportunity, particularly Austin Clews, Gary Harthern and Steve Hyde, who, together with the team at Bolton have worked tirelessly behind the scenes and of course the backbone of any team, the mechanics and riders with whom I have had the pleasure of working.

This season is not over. We will all continue to work hard and remain focussed both on and off the track on the remaining races this year. Steve Sword is fast recovering from his shoulder injury and still in a position to achieve a superb result in the national Championships and Maarten Cremers is improving week-by-week and is beginning to threaten the established stars, both proving the performance and reliability of their machinery.

I wish all the very best for CCM in the future.

Once this season is over, I will be looking forward to a brand new and exciting motocross venture, all of which will be revealed in due course.

Yours,

Dave Thorpe
