Following a fantastic qualifying session, Buildbase Honda 150 rider Josh Gilbert finished on pole position, some three seconds faster than the trailing bunch.
Local youngster Gilbert was briefly headed in moto 1, but soon took the lead and held the position to the flag. Moto 2 however was a different story following a bad start and crashes, Josh fought back to a creditable 6th place.
In moto 3, the 150, four stroke rider made no mistakes and lead from start to finish, entering day 2 of his racing on a confident note.
Despite the previous weeks of torrential rain, the circuit needed watering after practice! The track dried out to such a point it was dusty in parts and the high speed circuit lived up to every inch of its excellent reputation.
Racing continues tomorrow (Sunday) with the pro’s going head-to-head. French star Nico’ Aubin will be hoping for top honours in the MX1 class aboard the Buildbase Honda CRF450, while the on-form
Jordan Booker is flying the Buildbase Honda flag in the MX2 class.
The weather is forecast to be fantastic and the racing will be spectacular.
The high speed circuit is situated only three miles from Plymouth over the Tamar Bridge in Cornwall.
