The MC Federation are pleased to announce that www.girlracer.co.uk are the new series sponsor to their Women’s motocross Nationals. With only one race down so far at Cusses Gorse, the series, which will now be titled “The Girlracer™ women’s motocross nationals” now has the potential to get out there and capture the imagination of new girls into the sport as Girlracer.co.uk and the MCF work together to get more people nationwide into the sport of Motocross.

Girlracer.co.uk is a website, that as the title suggests, is dedicated to young women all over the UK and around the world that race so it stands to reason the collaboration is good for all concerned as the MCF’s Matt Bates explains. “This is a really positive step, not just for the women’s nationals but for motocross in general as it will bring more awareness to plenty of people who maybe otherwise wouldn’t know about the sport. Girlracer is a great site with all forms of motorsport and lifestyle under one roof so to speak, so to have a good section on their website showing the personalities of the riders and what motocross is all about is great. These girls deserve the credit and a great series to ride in, they train hard and warrant the recognition. We’re working hard to make our sport not only more appealing to all involved but also the people on the street and this is another step forward, for us and of course women in sport in general.”

Girlracer.co.uk is a fully interactive online magazine, updated daily, for women who are involved in all extreme sports and motoring. The site not only provides daily news feeds, at www.girlracer.co.uk you can find lifestyle news, blogs, competitions and profiles of your favourite female athletes. Additionally, Girlracer ™ is currently positioning itself as a lifestyle brand, with the site providing a fresh new range of leisure wear, racewear and motoring accessories for conscientious, active women who have a passion for life and adventure.

Commenting on the sponsorship of The Girlracer™ Women’s MX Nationals, Girlracer CEO Gary Wood says, “I am delighted to sponsor such a unique and exciting event. With the sheer mental strength and determination of these vibrant young athletes, it is easy to see why female MX is becoming so popular. The female MX riders are a great example of the Girlracer.co.uk ethos, that women can successfully strive to and position themselves alongside their male counterparts.”

You only need to look at the amount of MX news and athlete profiles that flood into Girlracer.co.uk to see the huge following and level of support for the sport. If it’s active, it’s Girlracer™

The next round of the The Girlracer™ Women’s MX Nationals is at Canada Heights, Swanley, Kent on the 18th/19th as part of the Fuchs-Silkolene 2 stroke championship and Red Bull Pro Nationals. The girls will have timed qualifaction on Saturday followed by two races and then a following two races on the Sunday.

Any women wishing to take part please contact secretary@mcfederation.com or call 01865 342107 to secure your entry or go to www.2strokebritishchampionship.co.uk for more information.
