HIGH FIVES – DANIEL ARNOLD LPE KAWASAKI

Dan Arnold from Chatham in Kent is a 16 year old with the potential to be a major player on the British MX scene in the near future. 2009 see’s him start his second season in the adult ranks with a switch from Emberson Yamaha, where he spent the majority of his youth career and his first year in adult racing, to the L.P.E Kawasaki Team, MOTO caught up with him at Canada Height’s for a High Five’s to find out a bit more about him.
MOTO – So Dan, how has your winter been?
“It’s been really good, I went over to America with the team to train and I got in a lot of riding in with Elliott Banks-Browne whose my new team mate, so that was awesome and it got me ready for the start of the season.”

MOTO – You’ve changed teams for 09 and switched to new machinery after a good few years on Yamaha’s, how have you been finding early life on L.P.E Kawasaki?

“The bike is awesome, it’s miles better than what I was riding last year! My results could have been a bit better but it’s all starting to come together.”

MOTO – What are your expectations for this season?
“Well, I want to finish in the top 10 overall in the Maxxis MX2 class and hopefully get in the top three of the Under 21’s.”

MOTO – You always seem to be in quite a happy and relaxed mood whenever we see you at the races, is that something that you find helps with your racing?

“Yeah, I think some people can take thing’s a bit to seriously at times, so I like to turn up and have a bit of fun with a few of my mate’s and have a laugh when I’m not on the bike.”

MOTO – What do you like to do away from motocross?
“Well, I don’t get that much spare time with all the racing, practicing and training but when I do get chance I like to just go out with my friends and just pretty much do what most other 16 year old’s do.”
