HIGH FIVES – JASON DOUGAN

What will 2009 have in store for Jason Dougan? A new team, a new bike, a new class and a new haircut.

Dougie will be racing for the CCM team in 09 in the MX1 class in both the Maxxis and World championship, team manager Dave Thorpe has recruited well as Jason’s team mates will be Tom Church and Ray Rowson – not a bad line up for a new team.

We caught up with Dougan for a quick natter about his plans for the new season.

MOTO – How did the CCM ride come about?

“Got talking to Dave towards the end of the season, and things progressed from there really, I tried a bike and really liked it so decided to take them up on the offer.”

MOTO – Are you racing 250 or 450 next year?
“I’ll be riding 450 CCM in the British and World Championships.”

MOTO – I see you’ve shaved your head is that because you can join mine and Jeff’s gang?
“Yep, sporting the bald Swede now – regretting it though, my heads FREEZING when I’m training! I thought you and Jeff are bald, didn’t realize it was only because you’d both shaven your heads?
Just got sick of my hair falling in my face and it started looking a bit wild!”

MOTO – You’ve just got back from a trip to Thailand, what was the best part about your trip to Asia and did anyone recognise you?

“The trip to Thailand was awesome, got to meet some cool people. No one recognized me; I’m not famous enough yet.”

MOTO – Your new team manager is Dave Thorpe, has he given you any advise yet?
“Dave’s been good to me, I’m staying down with him training everyday and go home at weekends. He helps on the days when it’s tough, makes me remember what I’m putting in all the hard work for.”

Nice one Dougie let’s hope for some great results in 09 and by the way me and Jeff shave are heads otherwise we would end up with a massive mullets.
