HM PLANT SPONSOR BRITISH GRAND PRIX

RHL Activities is pleased to announce that, following on from its involvement with the Weston Beach Race, HM Plant will continue its support of off-road events with the Motocross Grand Prix of Great Britain at Mallory Park on the 30th and 31st May.

HM Plant is known for its enthusiasm for motorsport and began a strong partnership with RHL Activities for the Weston Beach Race last October. The heavy machinery specialists will continue this support at the British Grand Prix with the provision of some of the equipment required for building the prestigious World Championship track.

HM Plant are a well known name in the world of two-wheeled motorsport, most famously for their involvement with Ducati in the World Superbike Championship where two of their sponsored riders, Neil Hodgson and James Toseland, won world championship titles. The heavy machinery specialists are also the main sponsor of the two-time British Superbike championship winning team, HM Plant Honda. The company has also previously been involved with motocross at both British and Grand Prix Championship level with the factory-backed Honda teams and KTM UK.

HM Plant is the leading European distributor of Hitachi construction equipment and has a network of depots that respond rapidly and appropriately to fulfill its aims of efficiently servicing all of its customers’ needs. The Newcastle-based company also distributes Metalogenia bucket teeth to the construction industry and celebrates strong partnerships with Isuzu and Honda Racing in the UK.

The track construction for the Grand Prix of Great Britain, which is being held at the Leicestershire circuit for the second year running, is already well underway with many new features being added to the layout. This year a new spectator bank has been created to improve viewing for the expected record crowd, as well as many new technically demanding jumps and corners to make the racing as exciting as possible.

RHL Activities’ track builder, Justin Barclay, who has overseen the motocross track build, will also be responsible for the design and implementation of the off-road section of the Supermoto course. These World Championship races will add a whole new dimension to the Motocross Grand Prix of Great Britain and HM Plant’s machinery will be responsible for the construction of these areas.

HM Plant Operations Director Andrew Baker:
“HM Plant is proud to be involved with the Motocross Grand Prix of Great Britain, incorporating the World Supermoto Championship, as it’s the most prestigious off-road event in the UK. We are the UK’s number one excavators supplier in the UK, so we pride ourselves in being associated with the very best through our sponsorship deals. This partnership follows on from our successful involvement with the 2008 Weston Beach Race, and we are excited to be associated with another great RHL Activities event.”

Director of RHL Activities Gareth Hockey:
“I’m pleased to announce that we will be continuing our partnership with HM Plant for the Grand Prix. The company has been widely associated with some of the best two-wheeled motorsport teams and riders in the world, and we welcome HM Plant’s enthusiasm and support for the most prestigious off-road event in the UK. We rely on the use of good heavy machinery for the construction of the technically demanding World Championship course, and HM Plant’s equipment will play a vital role in this year’s race.”
