LPE Kawasaki to support Britain’s largest bike event – Barton Bike Night
For over twelve years, Barton Bike Night has been a highlight in the calendar for many a bike fan. Originally started by Malc Bennett in the town of Barton-upon-Humber in Lincolnshire, and now managed by a organisational team headed by Chris Ashton and Barry Newton, this event attracts upwards of 10,000 motorcycles of all kinds, and every year on the first Wednesday in July, brings the town to a complete standstill.
This year, for the first time in the event’s history, a dedicated off-road section will be part of it, and Kawasaki Motors UK’s official motocross team, LPE Kawasaki, which is based in the area, will be there to support the event again.
Explains team owner Steve James: “I’m a Barton boy born and bred, I’ve always lived in the area. Last year we took our big truck and put it in the market place with our three riders at the time, and this year we will be at the dedicated off-road area where we will be joined by the North Lincs Classic Motorcycle Club, the Immingham Motorcycle Project (IMP) and a local speedway team.
“Jamie, one of our riders, works with IMP, which is a local initiative that attempts to reduce anti-social behaviour by providing a safe environment for young people to ride motorcycles, and they will be providing more information about the project next to the LPE Kawasaki truck on Wednesday night.”
This year’s Barton Bike Night will be held in Barton-upon-Humber on Wednesday, July 8.
