Today´s first race began perfect for UFO Racing Team from Czech Republic. Rider Petr Michalec with number 67 took the nice holeshot and he started to push very hard. Unfortunately, several turns after start he made a mistake and he falled down. Due to this he lost many positions. He did not give up and he had to started again. In finish line he was on 16th place.
His teammate from Slovenia Klemen Gercar had not such a good start, but he is very fast on this type of tracks. This Croatian track fits to him and his bike too, what could everybody saw. Some little time Antti Pyrhonen was riding in front of him, but Gercar took him over. From that moment he kept his place and until the end of race he made nice lead. From the Race one in Croatia Klemen Gercar took the victory.
Klemen Gercar: „I took a good start, aroud fourth place. Then after two laps I got first place and just pushed hard. The track was in this race very good, but it is getting drier, so it will be hard for the second race. But I want to win.“
Red plate owner Matthias Walkner rode very stable at every round of MX3 this season. He finished mostly in top three. From the start of first race he had a good speed and he was riding on a third place. Until the end of Race one he started to cathching up with Antti Pyrhonen. They were riding wheel to wheel and from this fight Matthias went off as winner. In the finish of Race one he enjoyed second place.
Racing Service Corregio Team rider Martin Michel was riding on fifth position during the first race. It was clear and everybody could see, that he was self-confident and he aimed higher. In the end of race he take fourth Michael Staufer over and he got also third Antti Pyrhonen. In last lap Antti was not able to defend his position and Michek was faster. Martin Michek finished on third position.
Finnish rider Antti Pyrhonen had a great opening laps in Race one. After fall of Petr Michalec he took the lead, but not for a long time. Slovenian Klemen Gercar jumped over him. Eventually Antti was riding on a third position. Just before the end of race Czech Michek got very close to Antti too. Antti gave way to Michek, so he stepped down. In the end experienced Finnish rider obtained fourth place.
Surely Michael Staufer wanted to repeat his result from Italy, when he won the race. But in Croatia things weren´t going well and after start he was riding in first top five. After a while he overworked to fourth, just right behind Antti and Michael started to push on Antti. Few laps before end came to this situation Michek and he overtook the both riders – Antti and also Michael. Thanks to this Michael Staufer finished five.
The another very fast Slovenian rider Matevz Irt was riding close to top five. His position did not changed during the whole race and he obtained sixth. Matevz Irt with his yellow Suzuki was slower in about twenty secs. Günter Schmidinger finished just right behind Matevz Irt. Günter is second in overall championship classification and he lost to sixth place 15 seconds. He crossed finish line on seventh place. Ludvig Soderbert, Antti´s teammate, was trying to catch Günter, but he didn´t managed it. Ludvig catch only eighth place.
Czech rider Petr Bartos made another very good race. He was in the back positions after start, but in closing to the end he made top ten. In very last lap he took Russian Dimitry Parshin over and he managed to come on nineth place. Dimitry is back in MX3 after his big injury. In the second race after his bad luck he took tenth place in first race.
Matevz Irt made finally better start than in some other times. After a few laps he took over his rivals in MX3 and he went for first place. After reaching this point, he defended his position succesfully and he finished on first place. In overall of Croatian´s round it brought him third place. He was satisfied with this result and his fans and supporters too. They occupied tribune next to finish line and they all pushed him to the front for all the time.
Matthias Walkner stayed still after this race in Croatia on first place in overall championship standings. In second race he started fine in front and he got to second position. He is very skilled and ready to ride at every conditions. Two times second meaned for him today first place overall and 26 points leading in MX3 standings.
Matthias Walkner: „I am satisfied with this weekend again. I made a good starts, two times second place and it brought me first in the end. I am happy with this and I am ready to beat my rivals in Slovenia too.“
Racing Service Corregio Team rider Martin Michek took holeshot in second race. First laps he was in lead, enlarged the gap, but then he started to loosing positions. Finally he finished third. He had same points as Matevz Irt after this weekend, but in second race was Matevz more succesful, so in overal of this weekend fourth position belongs to Martin.
Klemen Gercar went to second race with desire to repeat victory from first race. His start in Race two wasn´t good and he had to jump over his rivals from behind. He was making one of the best lap times but he could reach only fourth position. It meaned for him second place overall in Mladina.
In MX3 is a number of very fast riders at the same level. Everything depends on a start and Günter Schmidinger did quite a good starts this weekend. He was riding on third position, but his forces leaved him in warm weather and he slumped to fifth place.
Antti Pyrhönen is one of the riders, who made first race better. In his second performance of today, he could get only sixth. He also went down in championship classification to fourth place behind Michek and only one point over Klemen Gercar.
Petr Bartos took in Croatian second race one of the bests starts of his career. He was second, but then mistake came and he lost some places. In finish he obtained seventh place. This track evidently fits to Dimitry Parshin. In both races he finished among first ten riders, in second exactly on eighth place. First top ten riders closed Petr Michalec, UFO Racing Team rider together with Stefan Ziegler on his KTM.
