Tonymoto Motocross Park, the Hampshire venue that recently won a long-running planning battle, has joined forces with the MCF.
As part of the deal the facility will be regulated and insured as a practice track through the federation with the circuit available to clubs for events. The Ringwood and Hampshire clubs – both MCF organisers – have already booked the venue with many more clubs expressing interest in running at Tonymoto.
A tremendous amount of work has gone into resurrecting the motocross circuit after the facility was shut down more than three years ago following a dispute with the local council. But following the recent planning victory Tonymoto now has permanent permission and the venue officially reopened for practice on Wednesday (June 20).
“I’m delighted to be teaming up with the MCF,” says Tonymoto owner Tony Child. “A big, big thanks to Roy Barton and all the guys at the MCF for sorting out the insurance and helping us get up and running. What we’re intending to do now is provide a top facility for Hampshire-based, national and international riders.”
As well as plans to include a trials practice area at Tonymoto the venue features heavily in an MCF initiative to work with charity and school projects.
“Firstly it is great news that Tony has finally won his battle to reopen the venue at Tonymoto and I’m extremely pleased that, following our discussions, Tony can see the benefits in being a part of the MCF,” says MCF General Manager Roy Barton. “I believe that we are ideally suited to help Tony to expand the project and realise his ideas for the venue.
“Of course, we will also be able to learn from Tony who has a vast amount of experience at his disposal. The MCF has already started to work in other areas outside of motocross with a number of ventures and working with Tony with certainly give us a platform to continue that growth.”
The practice track will be open on Wednesdays and you need to book your space form 2.30pm Monday on 07729827981.
