Mold and District MCC ran its first meeting of the season at the popular Babell track.
Excellent organisation and preparation allowed the meet to cater for nearly 300 riders including the AMCA MX1 Championship Qualifiers.
In Juniors Group Two local success came from Matthew Stalker who stormed home to take the chequered flag in race three, the win giving him the points he needed to snatch victory from Richard Jones who had to settle for second place.
Tino Rizzi had an excellent ride in the MX1 Experts as he collected two second place finishes to secure the runners up spot overall.
Fellow club member Stephen Baddeley was unlucky not to pick up a trophy after finishing in fourth position.
Dewi Richie continued his excellent form this season in MX2 Experts with a closely fought battle between the top three riders.
Scott Mathia took first overall by two points with Dewi Richie and Alled Bellis closely behind him. Dewi snatched the chequered flag at his home track in the final race to clinch second position overall, Bellis finished third.
James Griffiths had two race wins in the Seniors Group Two to clinch second place with only two points separating him and overall winner Tom Hughes from Chester.
In Seniors Group One, Ryan Morris was the highest placed local rider as he won race three to give him a second place finish overall.
The next meeting at Babell is on Sunday May 11, and if you are interested in giving motocross a try the club meets on a Thursday evening at the Drovers Arms, Denbigh Road, Mold at 9pm or you can contact Nigel Seaburg on 07889815336 for more club information, members from age 11 upwards are welcome.
