It’s a new year and to coincide with the new season MOTO has a fresh new look to kick off 2011 in style.

While we are celebrating the beginning of a new season and sweet new look for the mag, we’re also celebrating the oddball and left-field of the off-road world too with our Alt. Issue. From sidecar mentalists to collectors, two-stroke die-hards to vintage racing, we’re highlighting all the people away from the mainstream who make this sport of ours so diverse and great. We’ve travelled to Japan, Prague and glitzy Monaco with some of the world’s best FMX riders, and we’ve even conducted the ultimate Alt. bike test, pitting Honda’s iconic CR125 Elsinore against the 201 CRF250 to see just how far bike technology has advanced in 30 years.

We haven’t neglected the mainstream however, and we have an exclusive and revealing interview with the hottest property in MX, Ken Roczen, detailing his reasons for jumping ship to KTM in his own words, and we also catch up with the luckless Ben Townley and British motocross institution Rob Hooper who is back on the racing scene in 2011 with a hot young team who could surprise us all.
