Steven Clarke back in the UK to race Supercross
Good news for British fans, Steven Clarke the Suzuki City star who now plying his trade in the Monster Energy Supercross championship is heading to both the final rounds of the British Supercross championship in Liverpool and London. Clarkey will be riding the super quick MVR-D Suzuki’s at both rounds.
Other riders include former World Supercross Champ American Heath Voss who is the latest star to confirm for the final two rounds of the Future West ACU British Supercross Championship to run this Saturday Evening January 23rd at the Liverpool Echo Arena and the following weekend in London’s O2 Arena on Sat January 30th. Voss has been drafted in by Future West to replace Mike Brown who was unexpectedly suspended from racing by the AMA and FIM for submitting improper clearance documents at the NEC.
Voss’ last appearance at the British Supercross Championship was in 2008 at Sheffield where he took second in the SX1 class to current points leader Colton Facciotti after an unexpected excursion over the handle bars whilst leading the race. Voss will be looking to even the score with Facciotti in the SX1 class aboard his PAR Homes Honda 450f. Along with Facciotti, Voss will have a strong international field to contend with including Frenchman and “King of Geneva” Cedric Soubeyras, British US export Steven Clarke, Canadian indoor champion Kyle Beaton, US up and comer Ryan Blizzard, current British Open points leader Ulsterman Gordon Crockard, 17 year old Canadian Spencer Knowles and European Supercross star and head to head specialist Welshman Ashley Greedy plus many more.
