Danni Marsh, Buildbase Honda`s entry in the Women`s World Championships, made the long drive to round 3 of the series in Arco Di Trento, Italy at the weekend.
Danni – “When we arrived at the track it was hard and dry. The circuit was quite tough but overall conditions were good. I was a bit disappointed with the result in my qualifying race but in race one (on Sunday) I worked hard to finish 26th. Race two was a bit tricky as it rained, but as soon as I got to grips with it I felt comfortable and was very pleased to take my first two World Championship points, finishing in 19th place”.
The event was won by Italian Fontanesi Chiara who has taken four wins and two second places in the three rounds to date.
Nicolas Aubin also had a fruitful weekend in Sour-De-Valle in France. Nico` travelled back home for a weekend away from the UK race scene and competed in an International event at the historic French circuit.
Aubin was fastest on his Buildbase Honda CRF450 in times training, then went on to win both International motos from Desprey (Yamaha) and Clermont (Honda).
Round four of the Phoenix Tools/Premier South West Centre Motocross Championship was held at Little Silver, Exeter, Devon on Sunday. The track was in prime condition following continued watering on the Saturday and the sprinkle of rain the night before.
Phoenix Tools Honda CRF450 rider Jackson Evans stole the lead after a few laps of race one and looked like a comfortable winner until he slipped off on a tricky turn and took several kicks to get the bike re-started. Another careless crash on the final lap dropped “Jacko` down to 18th spot.
While Evans was in front, a battle ensued behind with Phoenix Tools Honda team-mate Maarten Cremers and series leader Luke Hill. Hill gratefully inherited the win from Cremers and Luke Mellows.
Race two saw Jacko` take the lead and make no mistakes. Luke Hill and Jamie Skuse followed him home, with Cremers fighting hard for 6th spot at the flag.
Fast starting Darren Shears leapt into the lead of the final moto, with Jackson way back in tenth spot. Cremers fought up to second, but by the last lap, Jacko` was all over the Belgian Phoenix Tools rider and without a safe place to pass on the high speed track, Evans settled for third.
Cremers second place in the final moto gave him third overall on the day and he now lies eighth in the championship, with Evans in fifth and all riders will be ready for this weekend`s round four of the Maxxis British Motocross Championship at Milton Park, Northampton
