Report by Gareth Bemister The tide finally revealed a near perfect flat surface for a track to be laid upon. The organisers quickly put out the cones, moved the commentators vans and set up the pits, ready for the much anticipated Sand Ace British Championships- the biggest Sand Racing event in living memory at Vazon Bay. The last of the surfers made their way back across the track, allowing practice to commence. The sidecars practised first and the speed was just incredible. It was obvious to….

Considering the amount of rain that had fallen in the North East in the week preceding this event it was remarkable that the meeting took place at all. The organising club, The North East Motocross Club, had worked extremely hard to get the track in a rideable condition after the rains for which they must be applauded. As the day went on the track conditions improved and by the end of the day there was dust being kicked up but this wasn’t an issue as the bracing wind took it away…..

Tuesday 03 July, 2012
It was another testing meeting for the NG Road Racing competitors as once more we had to contend with a race day that went from sun to wind to rain, through drizzle then back to sun again…. and all in the space of ten minutes. Tyre choices were a nightmare and some riders suffered more than others. That allied to the trick conditions made the day a lottery for some. Andrew Fisher, championship leader in the 125GP class and a potential front runner in the 450c open failed to make the start….

Report by Gareth Bemister After very heavy rain throughout the night, campers must have feared the worst when they woke up on Sunday morning. However, thanks to a strong wind, some Cornish sun and lots of track work by the club, the circuit was rideable for the British Championships to take place in 2012. In practice, the track immediately proved difficult for riders. The adverse camber of the pit bend proved a particular point of difficulty for many riders, especially on the slippery surface. A….
