AMCA launch rider incentive scheme – GO FOR GOLD and reap the rewards!
• Free Dirt Bike Show tickets
• Beach Race entry for £23!!
The AMCA has launched an incentive scheme to benefit it’s riders who ride at the most motocross events.
The organising body has for many years had a gold / silver / bronze scheme in place which categorises riders by the number of mx events they rode at in the previous year.
For 2012 the AMCA have added a number of benefits to give real value to the scheme.
To achieve gold status riders will have had to take part in 27 events in the 2012 season, when they apply for a licence the following year it will be a ‘gold’ licence.
Despite the recent heavy rain there are still plenty of opportunities to enter AMCA events and make sure you qualify for these great offers.
This year to encourage you to strive for gold AMCA are offering all riders who achieve Gold status this season by 14th October a FREE ticket to the 2012 Dirt Bike Show at Stoneleigh!
In addition, they can also enter the fabulous SKEGNESS Beach Race on 17th / 18th November for the standard AMCA entry fee of £23!! A massive potential saving of £77!!
TWO EXCELLENT REASONS for entering as many events as possible between now and 14th October!
To achieve gold status you need to have competed at 27 motocross events between the 1st February and 14th October 2012, all AMCA authorised MX events qualify.
Gold status riders also benefit the following season by receiving preferential entry into oversubscribed events or classes.
On the 15th October we will contact via text and email all those who have qualified with details of how they can claim the above offers.
The AMCA Chairman Terry King said ‘we want to reward our most loyal riders and these two benefits offer significant savings for those riders who take part in the most events’.
In the meantime, good luck and enjoy the rest of the 2012 AMCA season – Go for Gold!!

MARKET DRAYTON RD2 VETS AND 2 STROKE
This Sunday, 29th July 2012, the Market Drayton Motocross Wales Club are very proud to host round two of the 2012 AMCA 2-Stroke and Veterans Championships and they would like to start by welcoming the National riders to their home of Ollerton motoparc, in Shropshire.
Following the recent spate of poor weather, and championship cancellations, the Championship is entering just round 2, with another 5 rounds planned now now until the championship decider on the 21st October. The opening round at Ceri back in June was fiercely contested in both Championships and saw a range of front runners. The AMCA Veterans Championship saw newcomer Matt Ryder take overall glory following two race wins and a second. Conduit came home second overall and will be one to watch following his last race victory. It was Staples who nrounded out the top three, but also in the mix was the Hereford based Prosser, and now local favourite Baddeley who will surely be a front runner on one of his local tracks!
In the 2-Strokes, the pace certainly looked to have increased at the top with again, a range of riders taking wins and honours. Halls, Eckersley, Harris and Williamson all took top three finishes over the course of round 1 and none of them had it their own way. It was Williamson whon eventually came out on top with first overall on the day, but with Eckersley taking three seconds, he will be looking for glory this time round! Adam Harris came home third, and Dale Halls fourth! Youngster, Alex Everitt will also be another one to watch out for – the rider knows the circuit well and after bad luck in race 1, round 1, is fighting hard to claw back some points!
The 18minutes plus one lap races will surely be hard and endurance testing. It is about the start, getting out the gate first, as well as racing hard for over 20minutes over a host of obstacles including table tops, waves, and more at this well established race circuit! Over seven rounds of each Championship that travels the length and width of the country, it will certainly be interesting to see who comes out on top.
Also on the card at Ollerton will be racing for local Experts, Seniors and Juniors, so have a fab day!
Ladies IMBA Round 2 – France
Round 2 of the Ladies IMBA was located at France Allaire on 21st July, the sun was shining and the supercorss style track looked well prepared for the evenings racing that was about to take place!
After practising and qualifying the night racing began. At 20:35 the first Ladies IMBA race was about to commence, the atmosphere was electric and the spectators turned from hundreds to thousands! Thirty six girls made their way down to the track including the only GB IMBA rider Leonie Smith on her SHR Honda. After the gate dropped Leonie slipped in to second position around the first corner but it wasn’t long before series leader Nicky Van Wordragen got by, putting Leonie in third position. She managed to maintain this position for half race distance until over jumping a tabletop which caused a hard landing, dislocating her shoulder. Luckily it popped back into place when riding over the next jump and she managed to battle on crossing the chequered flag in 8th place.
Later that evening with the floodlights on moto 2 was about to begin, and after Leonie having her shoulder strapped up and feeling very sore made her way down to the holding pen. Just before their race there was a spectacular freestyle show which sent the crowd wild and ready for the last race of the night. With such a lively atmosphere it was clear that Leonie was too eager to start and hit the gate, setting her off last. Half way through the race Leonie had managed to fight her way up to eighth position, but as the race went on it was clear that the pain in her shoulder became too much causing her to slip back to 12th position and this is where she stayed until crossing the chequered flag. Despite shoulder injury, she still managed to get a respectable 9th overall.
