Total domination for De Dycker at home in Belgium

Share:

Red Bull-KTM’s Ken De Dycker posted a perfect scorecard of 1-1-1 in the opening round of the Radson Trophy-Belgian Championship in Mons today. De Dycker’s debut on the 2013 KTM SX-F 450 left the fans around the sandy ‘Le Bois Brulé’ track in awe has he led every single lap of the event and posted the fastest time in qualifying. The popular Belgian was joined on the podium by Tanel Leok (Rockstar Energy-Suzuki) and Davide Guarneri (Silver Action-KTM).

After the cancellation of the series opener in Wichelen and earlier rescheduling of Mons, the Belgian Motocross Championship finally got underway today in Mons. Under sunny skies the 27-year old KTM works rider led all three motos from start to finish. After creating a considerable gap on Leok De Dycker was able to control, a recipe he succesfully put into action for all three sprints.

Ken De Dycker: “Today was pretty good, allthough there was not a lot of fight to see for the crowd! But the conditions were interesting to get a feel for the new SX-F 450 in a race environment. The track was quite rough, yet in other places the soil was harder. This made for a good mix and a great test with the bike. Tomorrow (Monday) I will also be competing in the Open Dutch Championship in Axel.

I was able to keep the focus in all three races although I rode all by myself constantly. Every time I tried to push early and to pull away from the others so that I could control the race in the second half. With the heat and those three motos I wanted to make sure to leave something in the tank for tomorrow. I am leading the championship now and after my second places before it would be nice to win this year!”
