World championship motocross welcomes new sponsor Braun

The ever changing world of motocross is going to be hard for teams and riders alike in 2009 but the world championship series took a positive step forward with the news that multi million pound electrical company Braun will partner the series in 2009.

Giuseppe Luongo, the President of Youthstream, commented: “We are very proud that a world famous brand such as Braun has become partner of the FIM Motocross World Championships. This constantly shows the great work done over the past years in promoting our sport and bringing it on TV around the world. Now, more than 850 million people in 135 countries for more than 1.200 hours watch the FIM Motocross World Championships and our web-site has more than 3.5 million visitors per year. We will do all our best to promote Braun at all our Grand Prix events and we really hope to create a long-term partnership.”

“Braun’s sponsorship of the FIM Motocross World Championships reflects a logical progression for our brand as we move into 2009,” said Cornelia Bartl, Marketing Manager for Braun shavers in Kronberg. “Our cruZer product range has offered the best tools on the market for beard styling since its launch in 2004, and continues to gather momentum. Braun’s heritage in two wheeled sports includes all disciplines of BMX and Mountain Bike, Freestyle Motocross and now MX1 and MX2. Each time we endeavor to bring something new to the sports we are involved with, and 2009 will not be different. Braun cruZer will be offering LIVE web casts from all the events, allowing Motocross a new opportunity to engage with the Internet audience via a cutting edge service that is highly anticipated by the fans.”

Braun, the world’s leading electrical foil shaver manufacturer is based in Kronberg, Germany, and has been involved in extreme sports since 2001. The company was founded in 1921 in Frankfurt, Germany, by the German Max Braun and owned by Gillette from 1967 to 2005 before Gillette was acquired by Procter & Gamble.
