American Blake Baggett rides for the Monster Pro Circuit Kawasaki team in the 250 class of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship. Born and brought up in Grand Terrace, California, Blake had great success as an amateur, earning four championships including two at the AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship at Loretta Lynn’s.
He made the leap to the pro ranks in 2010, and experienced almost-immediate success with victory at Dallas, and a sixth place overall finish in the AMA Supercross 250SX East Region. He joined up with his current team for the 2011 campaign, and earned five overall motocross wins during the year, finishing third overall on points.
Blake went into 2012 as one of the favourites to take the 250 class MX title, and he didn’t disappoint – despite stiff competition from the GEICO Honda squad, he remained in pole position through all 12 rounds, securing five overall wins and 10 moto wins, to take his first career 250 Class championship.
The 2013 season was a difficult one for Blake as he was hampered by an injury suffered during the first round of the supercross season, but he roared back into contention in 2014, hungry for another championship – he captured his first win of the season in round three at Thunder Valley, and secured his second consecutive victory soon after at High Point, and currently stands in third place overall with four rounds of the year remaining.
