Hailing from Twin Falls, Idaho, American Jake Weimer rides in the 450 class of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship for the Monster Energy Kawasaki team. He made his big breakthrough in 2007 when he finished fourth overall in the AMA Supercross Lites West Region Series and sixth in the Motocross Lites Championship, riding a Honda CRF250R.

He progressed steadily over the next few years, picking up a number of victories and podium finishes along the way, including an SX win at Phoenix in 2008 and three wins on the way to a runner-up finish in the AMA Supercross Lites West Region standings in 2009. His time in the 250 class culminated in 2010, when he took three consecutive wins in the 250SX West Region before going on to take the Championship.

For 2011 he graduated to the 450 class, and was immediately challenging the sport’s big guns – although a broken arm ruled him out of most of the indoor season, he finished sixth overall in motocross. In 2012, he finished fifth in SX, putting himself on the podium five times, and also emerged as one of the leading riders outdoors, posting three overall podiums en route to third place.

Monster Energy Kawasaki dominated 2013, but it was Jake’s teammate Ryan Villopoto who won the Supercross Championship (for the third consecutive year) and the Motocross Championship. Jake, who had to contend with both injury and illness, had to be content with 11th overall in supercross and sixth in motocross, including a podium finish in Unadilla.
