Hailing from Edgewood, New Mexico, American star Jason Anderson followed in the footsteps of his uncle, who was also a high-level motorbike racer. Jason now rides for the Rockstar Energy Racing KTM team in the 250cc class of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship.
He first started riding at the age of seven, after his grandfather bought him a KTM50 for his birthday, and a successful amateur career followed, with all five Loretta Lynn’s titles and 72 titles in total. In 2010, he won the Horizon Award for the most outstanding rider in the AMA Amateur National Motocross Championships.
He turned pro in 2011 with Rockstar Energy Suzuki, and the following year he made a huge leap by finishing fifth in the Supercross Lites West Class, including a second place finish at Salt Lake City, and by finishing eighth in the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross 250 Class. His progression continued with a successful season in 2013, including a win in Salt Lake City – overall he finished fourth in Supercross West Region and eighth once again in Pro Motocross.
For 2014, the Rockstar Energy team announced that it would be switching to KTMs, and Jason went into his fourth full season as a professional racer as a championship threat in both supercross and motocross. However, with eight of twelve rounds completed outdoors, Jason currently finds himself lying back in seventh place in the overall standings.
