As an amateur, Justin Barcia won more than 25 national titles before graduating to the professional MX ranks in 2009, when he won the MX Sports Pro Racing 250 Class Rookie of the Year award. He went on to finish second in SX in 2010, securing five podium finishes, and fifth overall in MX.

In 2011, he appeared on the podium at every round of the nine-race AMA Supercross Lites East series on his way to winning the championship, and he defended his title in 2012, wrapping up the championship with one round remaining after six race wins over the course of the year. He also finished second overall in the 2012 MX season, only behind Blake Baggett.

Justin was born on 25th March 1992, and his determination to win and never-say-die attitude have helped him to make big progress in a short space of time. He began riding a dirt bike at the age of four, and by seven was racing competitively, already living up to his nickname of ‘The Wild One’, with a crazy riding style and shaggy blonde hair.

2013 marked his first full season racing in the 450 class, and he secured podium finishes in nine of 24 motos for Team Honda Muscle Milk, placing third overall in MX points. Things were also going well in 2014 – he was lying sixth in MX points after the first two rounds of the year – until he was forced to drop out of the Championship in order to have surgery on a chronic ankle problem.
