One of Britain’s fastest and most successful motocross riders, Shaun is one of only a handful of British riders to win a overall GP with a outstanding performance in Lierop in 2013. Shaun rides for HM Plant KTM UK in the MX1 class.

British star Shaun ‘Simmo’ Simpson rides for the Hitachi Construction Machinery UK KTM team in the MXGP division of the FIM World Motocross Championship. Born on 13th March 1988 in Gauldry, Fife, Shaun first made his mark on the scene when he made his GP debut in the 2004 MX2 British Grand Prix on the Isle of Wight, and he turned professional the following year.

He progressed steadily up the leaderboard until 2008, when, riding for Team KTM UK, he finished fourth overall in the MX2 standings, and was crowned British champion. After an injury-ruined 2009 campaign, he came back strongly in 2010 for Stefan Everts’ Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team, finishing eighth overall with three podium finishes.

With LS Honda Racing for 2011, he moved up to the MX1 division, finishing 15th overall in the World Championship. For 2012, riding for Monster Energy Yamaha, he finished 11th overall, before signing for TM Ricci Racing for 2013, when he finished ninth in the final standings, picking up his first GP victory in the GP of Benelux at Lierop along the way.

He has continued to develop in 2014, and currently stands in fifth place in the overall standings, with a best finish of third in the sand of the Grand Prix of Belgium at Lommel. Still only 26, Shaun’s career has also featured impressive MX1 performances in the Belgian Championship (first in 2011), the Dutch Championships (2nd in 2013), and the British Championship (first in 2014).
