STRONG RACE OF KYLE REDMOND

Kyle Redmond, team-mate of Cory Graffunder, was able to show his potential for the first time in this year’s season. Kyle had a good start and defended his third place until short before the end of the race. Nevertheless this fourth place is the best finish of the season so far for the American and it shows that we can expect more in the future.

Italian Motocross Championship

HUSQVARNA SECURES TWO PODIUMS

After the ill-fated European GP, the riders returned to the Marches track to prepare for the last race of the MX2 World Championship in Teutschenthal.
The penultimate round of the Italian Motocross championship was held in San Severino Marche (MC)and Ivo Monticelli took the opportunity to participate in the race organized by his club the Moto Club Settempedano.
After the fall of the second heat the European Grand Prix held in Faenza last week, Ivo could not train regularly because of injuries reported (six stitches the chin and lower lip). After certify “green light” by the doctors, Monticelli decided to join the race as training session for the next GP in Germany.
At the end of the day, Ivo finished on the third step of the podium, having battled long for the victory of the two heats. A slip in the last steps of the second heat destroyed the chances of victory and put him into the overall second place.
But also in the Women class a Husqvarna rider scored two podiums. Alice Magnoli finished both races in third place and strengthens her 3rd place in the point standings.

British Enduro Championship

ROWLAND SHINES AT THE NATTERJACK

After a long, weather-enforced summer break, the ACU British Enduro Championship returned with the Natterjack Enduro, held at Longmoor Camp in Hampshire.
MPS was back to full strength with Jamie Lewis making his return to competitive riding after several weeks off the bike due to a shoulder operation and Jack Rowland was ready to make best use of the experience gained over the summer racing the European Enduro Championship.
As usual the REME organisers had done a fantastic job with the course and facilities, providing a beautifully laid out course with the MX test in the ?Sand Pit’ and an Enduro test adjacent to the paddock ensuring spectators could get right to the heart of the action.
Saturday started well for Jack on his TE250, posting the fasted E1 class time on the first test. In fact his time was so good he was the 3rd fastest rider overall, despite the capacity disadvantage against the field of E2 and E3 riders. This pace continued throughout the day with Jack winning the E1 class by 5 seconds and finishing 4th overall.
For Jamie Lewis on the TE310 his return to racing wasn’t quite so fruitful. Saturday started well with Jamie inside the top 5 of the E2 class on the first three tests but then an exhaust strap broke, possibly due to impact damage, leaving him with a silencer hanging in the breeze and unable to complete the test. In the limited time available, a temporary repair was undertaken to get him out racing again, but it proved a little too temporary bringing an end to Jamie’s day.
On Sunday things panned out somewhat better for Jamie. You didn’t need to look at the test times to see he was fast, the smooth aggressive style showing just how hard he was pushing. The effort paid off with 2nd in the E2 class and 5th overall for the day.
Jack continued to shine on Sunday, riding consistently and pushing his 250 hard to stay towards the top of the timesheets. Net result for Sunday: E1 class win and 2nd overall.

Spanish Endurance

AGAIN PODIUMS FOR HUSQVARNA PILOTS IN RESISTANCE CASSERRE

Last weekend, the riders of Husqvarna MB Racing, Josep, Edgard and Rafa Garcia participated in Casserres (Bergueda) an endurance test of 3 hours. For Husqvarna pilots this was an ideal good workout for the upcoming enduro races which will be held in the coming months. In the timed sections were led by Rafa Garcia, with his Husqvarna TE 310, until Edgard and Josep stamped the fastest time into the dirt. The classification was with Josep / Edgard, piloting a Husqvarna CR 125 and a TE 310 in first place ahead of Ramon Brucart / Alex Diaz both on regulars MX3 Yamahas, which made the result achieved by the Garcia brothers even more sweeter. Already at the start, Rafa Garcia put himself into first place and continued with a very conservative pace for the next three hours alone in front of the field. Soon after Josep overtook Rafa he was taking seconds from Brucart in second. When Edgar took over, he was able to increase the gap to his closest pursuer Burcart, finishing the race with a lap more than the second placed team which secured the RS1 Senior win and the first place in the classification “scratch”. Meanwhile, Rafa Garcia finished the race in the only to the solo riders dedicated RT 1 class in first place.
