Having swapped to ‘green’ for 2010, the Jerre was excited to head off to Bulgaria this weekend to get his 2010 Grand Prix season underway. The Sevlievo circuit was spectacular as ever, and with the power of the CLS Pro Circuit Kawasaki the likeable Belgian was looking for a strong start to the GP campaign.

During all practice sessions the ‘Jerre’ looked good, and although a few suspension woes needed attention, Van Horebeek managed a good qualifying race to cross the line in 4th position, just ahead of team mate Frossard.

As race one blasted out the gates under glorious sunshine the Jerre was up at the sharp end of the charging pack. Rounding out the opening lap in 6th position the ‘Jerre’ was looking comfortable on the Kawasaki. Charging hard throughout the intense race Van Horebeek ultimately crossed the finish line to take 5th place.

Moto 2 was another good start for the ‘Jerre’, sliding through turn one in the leading group. He rode well and at the end of another good show, Van Horebeek’s number 89 machine crossed the finish line in 6th position, awarding him 6th overall in the World Championship standings at the end of round 1.

“I had 2 good starts today, but the first few laps in both motos were really intense, and I just made too many mistakes. Once I got into my rhythm and found the best lines I was able to ride a much smoother race. My goal was Top 5 overall today, and I was 6th, so not that far off. I know where I need to improve though, and already I can focus on Mantova next weekend.” commented Jeremy Van Horebeek.

Round 2 of the MX2 World Championship takes place next weekend in Mantova, Italy.
