British Masters Preview for this weekends Hawkstone Park round

Following a very spectacular round three on the super Whitby circuit,the 2013 AMCA Wulfsport British Masters returns to action this weekend with a visit to another top class venue,the historic Hawkstone Park in Shropshire. But who will adapt quickest to the variation of track surfaces,going from the Yorkshire hard-pack to the soft,demanding Shropshire sand?

Well in Battery Energy Drink Pro MX1,Kristian Whatley is certainly the man to beat!!.At Whitby after being pushed hard in the closing stages of moto one by Nathan Watson,Kristian then coasted to victory in the final clash and leads the series by 62 points.Young Watson also at present holds 2nd in the MX1 Championship table with Luke Hawkins,Josh Waterman,Ashley Wilde and Neville Bradshaw all chasing hard.

Proving his versatility,Nev Bradshaw is also the current leader of Battery Energy Pro MX2,26 points ahead of Bryan MacKenzie.Like Whatley,Nev is currently in great form and won both races at Whitby ahead of Nathan Watson.At present,Nathan is 3rd in the Pro MX2 series and being a renowned sand track specialist he is sure to be right on the gas at Hawkstone Park!!.In what is proving to be a very competitive class,Luke Norris,Ben Watson,Dan Thornhill, Adam Sterry,Graeme Irwin and James Dunn are all producing strong performances and certainly well worth watching out for.

In Pirelli MX2,Bradley Wheeler continues to be invincible with a perfect 12 out of 12 moto wins.With three podium places so far,Steve Turvey is proving equally consistent in 2nd spot ahead of Aiden Wigger,Ryan Osborn,Anthony Misselbrook and James Milne.Over in Pirelli MX1,Shaun Scrivens is also in terrific form having bagged three overall wins,the next best being Jason Kendrick,Adam Smith,Jake Thompson and Daniel Chapman.At present Wheeler and Scrivens also lead the race to earn a place at the Pirelli supported Ricky Carmichael Motocross University.

Doubling up and also competing in the Pro MX1 contest,North East rider Daniel Hutchinson leads the Muk Junkie Amateur MX1.With Hutchinson winning all three rounds so far,Chad Yarranton,Luke Meredith,Cory Joe-Nemeth, Alexander Hussey,Jake Alsop and Joe Jones have all bagged podium placings.In the Championship standings its Chad Yarranton holding 2nd,11 points ahead of Luke Meredith.

As expected,the 2013 goggle-shop.com Amateur MX2 contest as proved to be highly competitive and entertaining. With three podium places including two victories,it’s the very consistent Richard Cannings topping the table.The Yorkshireman knows though that he’s sure to be pushed all the way in the charge to the chequered flag by the likes of Zac Stealey,Adam Wells,Jack Drogan,Carl Benjamin,Stuart Owen and Charles Statt.

Jamie Ellis,Robert Davidson and Dan Thornhill have all bagged an overall win in the GSP Race Products MXY2 class so far.However with both Davidson and Thornhill doubling up and also competing in Pro MX2 its Ellis who leads the Championship.At present,Reece Desoer,Loukas Maggio,Daryl Wallis,Gareth Artus and Kyle Lane are proving to be the other main MXY2 protagonists.

In the combined Putoline BW/SW85cc Minimasters contest,Jay Hague(BW) and Archie Osmaston(SW) are the pace setters.In the big wheel class,Hague is currently in fantastic form and certainly the star performer although the very capable and equally consistent Joe Jefferies is chasing hard with Brett Pocock,Dee Jay Walker and Matt Lomas also right in the mix.Over in the small wheel class,Alexander Brown,Harry Kimber and Nathan Claughan have took the respective overall wins at Preston,Foxhill and Whitby but its Archie Osmaston who tops the table from Matthew Pocock and Ben Burridge.

Hawkstone Park can be found North of Shrewsbury,postcode SY4 4NA with the circuit just off the A49 near to the village of Hopton.Racing on both day’s will be underway by 10am with admission charges of £5 for the Saturday and £10 Adults,£5 OAP’s/Children 5-15 and Children Under 5 FREE on Sunday when the Pro class goes racing.
