MORE GOOD RESULTS FOR THE BOYS

parker-AQ5A2018

It was three Red Bull Pro Nationals on the bounce as the team travelled down to Pontrilas, Herefordshire for the 6th round. The weather was sweltering and the track crew did a good job of keeping the dust down, although because of the amount of water they had to put down it wasn’t long before the track became extremely rutted and knarly.

Silkolene 2 stroke – Saturday

After qualifying in 2nd and 6th respectively in a really tight session Noble and Parker knew they needed great starts to give themselves a chance of running up front and although Noble made some pretty good starts he struggled to manhandle his 500 around the knarly track and the best he could do was 7-7-10 finishes for 7th overall on the day, still enough to maintain 2nd place in the championship but losing more ground on leader Eastwood. Parker again suffered from bad start but managed to fight through to 5-6-6 finishes for 6th overall leaving him just seven points behind his teammate in 3rd place.

Red Bull Pro Nationals – Sunday

Race 1

After posting the 2nd fastest qualifying time ahead of his stable mate Noble in third, Parker was fired up and it showed as he grabbed the holeshot ahead of Alex Snow and Brad Anderson. They both forced their way past on the first couple of corners but Parker passed Anderson back in the whoops and looked up for the fight until he crashed on the next lap dropping him down the field. Meanwhile Noble who had gated in 7th had progressed to 5th early on but was struggling to catch the men in front and although he stepped it up in the closing stages he had to settle for 5th. Parker had charged back through the field before crashing again on the eigth lap and the best he could salvage was 12th in MX1 at the finish

Race 2

Parker took an even better holeshot this time out with Noble in 6th but had to give ground to Anderson before they had completed the first lap. Although he battled hard to hold off GP stars Tom Church and Stephen Sword he had to yield but was looking comfortable in 4th. Noble was looking more at home than he did in the first race and was pushing hard although he had Gordon Crockard covering his every move. Noble managed to break him towards the end before closing in on Parker with one lap remaining, however Parker wasn’t going to give up any more places and managed to hold off Noble as they crossed the line in well earned 4th and 5th places which were enough to give Noble 4th overall and Parker 7th. Noble is now looking increasingly secure in 3rd place in the championship with  a healthy 39 point advantage over Carl Nunn with Parker just two point further back in 5th.

Elite Youth Cup

Garland was in impressive form all weekend and took 2nd overall behind championship leader James Harrison as he raced to 5-4-4 finishes on the Saturday followed by even better results the next day with two 2nd places to give him a well deserved podium.

We now have a week off before heading down to Foxhills, Swindon for the 5th round of the Maxxis British Championships on 25th July.
