enduro KTMs Polish Prince blasts his way to maximum points at Genoa Indoor Enduro

KTM’s Extreme Enduro maestro, factory rider Taddy Blazusiak, notched up another maximum points score on Saturday night with a near flawless display of riding in the second event of the FIM Indoor Enduro World Cup held in Genoa’s Palasport.

With this latest result Taddy continues to be the undisputed high roller in Extreme Enduro and now has the highest possible 90 -point score after two of the four events that brings the thrill of Enduro racing right into the heart of the city.

KTM’s reigning title holder in second place
Second was the reigning indoor champion Ivan Cervantes onboard his KTM. Ivan has now picked up 58 points and looked much more confident in front of the Italian crowd than in the first event in Sheffield, England. Third place went to Swedish rider, Husaberg’s Joakim Ljunggren.

In a class of their own
KTM Enduro Factory Team boss Fabio Farioli said the Taddy and Ivan were in a class of their own on Saturday night, delivering a superb performance of speed and agility to the large and enthusiastic crowd. “Taddy and Ivan were incredibly fast, “he said. “Taddy took the holeshot in the first heat and the others had no chance to catch him. Then Ivan took the holeshot in the second heat while Taddy crashed and had to restart. He then made an amazing recovery from seventh place and managed to catch Ivan in the last lap. Ivan also took the holeshot in the third heat but Taddy overtook him in the second lap and went on to win. Taddy and Ivan then put on a great show for the spectators with some real “freestyle” riding and the crowd really enjoyed it.”

Taddy rides and wins with injured knee
Taddy Blazusiak said via his media service: ‘I didn’t feel that good during the first practice session but I soon got into things and, well, everything worked out perfectly. I was really struggling with all of the right hand corners because I didn’t want to put my foot down. One thing that helped me again was my starts. I had a great start in the first race and got the holeshot, but I accelerated too hard out of the gate in the second race, lost traction and paid the price. But I knew that if I didn’t make any other mistakes I’d be able to get to the front, which I did. Then the third final went well again so I won all three races like I did in Sheffield.”

Bringing the excitement of Enduro to city fans
Indoor Enduro became an official FIM-sanctioned winter competition in 2008, It offers riders a whole range of the same natural obstacles they encounter in an outdoor Enduro test – sand, tree trunks, rocks and water fords, all in an indoor arena. The sport also brings a motorcycle competition that demands endurance, speed, enormous agility and skill right into the heart of a city allowing spectators to get close up and personal with thrill of Enduro racing.

The remaining two World Cup events in the series take place in Spain (Vigo on January 9, 2010 and Madrid, January 30, 2010)
