It looked like the world was against us

Slough Ace Riders was the next stop on the Minibike Masters calender. The track based in Slough, proved
to be fast and a little more technical then the opening round. An agressive woop section and long table tops with fast flowing bends made for some very fast close racing.

In the 88cc Pro Class, Mat Allen, on board his BBR race bike, had a consistant days racing and managed to bring home some silverware for the team with a 2nd overall. Johnny Groves also riding in the 88cc Pro Class had a mixed day with a clutch related problem early on in the meeting which put him out of action, retiring early but was running at the front of the pack up untill that point.

Debbie Phelps in the KLX Super Stock Class felt far more confident on the bike which showed in her riding. She’s desperate to get some decent results and put the lads to shame, but she’s still without doubt the fastest female rider at the races and I’m very proud to have her on the team representing motox-collect.com. Keen to get on the podium, Debbie feels that she is not getting the maximum potential out of her TBparts powered KLX110 and feels there is still better to come and hoping some testing this weekend will get the bike set-up better for Rd3.

Johnny Groves, also riding in the KLX Super Stock Class, had the worst luck since racing minibikes. After experiencing engine problems in the 88cc Pro Class Johnny had a huge crash in the first race that left the bike unrideble. Johnny managed to get his Kawasaki based machine repaired for the second moto only to suffer with a puncture. To top off the day, in his 3rd race he experienced another nasty crash on the first lap but went on to finsh and get a few points.

Gary Phelps in the Mid Size Clubman Class also had a weekend he’d like to forget. This class was full of good close racing and with his TBparts/BBR bike running well he was making some very good starts and running with the leading pack finishing 4th in his first race. A small mistake in the 2nd race caused him to crash and with multiple collisions the race was stopped which left him down the field looking for points. Unfortunately the 3rd and final race of the day was also stopped and re-run where he suffered with fatigue after some very demanding conditions.

So not the best of weekend for team motox-collect.com as it looked like the world was against us.
Roll on the next round at the CMX Centre in Cardiff.

Finally, we could not have done this without the help of our ‘Official Partners’, so a big thanks to our primary team sponsor BBR Motorsports, along with TBParts, Alpinestars, Fro Systems, Mojo/Fox Racing Shox, Windwave/Marzocchi UK, Smith Goggles, Fiddy Forum, Monster Energy, MD Racing/UFO Plastics, Spiral GFX and Evoke Concepts for your help and product support!
