South Somerset and South West Motocross club’s are running a two day meeting this weekend (Sunday 26th /Monday27th) at Cheddar Motoparc, which is looking fantastic after some recent venue changes to improve this already popular venue.

AMB/Mylaps transponders will be available to hire, Day Licences available and you will not have to provide a marshal.

To benefit from the best condition of the Landrake track, the Big Wheels group were first out, with Mitchell Lewis, Billy King and Joe Jefferies producing some proficient riding. Lewis securing 2 race wins to ease him into top spot, King and Jefferies second and third with Corey Hockey and Callum Ford also pursuing their positions in the top five.
Small wheels were out next and with just the same grit of their bigger brothers, saw Jack Booker take the 85 class by the scruff of the neck from Harry Kimber, second overall who missed out on moto 1 coming fourth, with Callum Gasson and Connor Ford taking third and fourth respectively.

In the Juniors we saw Tyler Rowe take a clean sweep of all three motos with Lewis Hall and Ike Carter contends their second and third overall.

Autos made up for their numbers in enthusiasm and flew round the shortened, but still rapid course with Bradley Way taking a dominant role in leading the pack with Finley James and Edward Hoddinott sparring for second. Newcomer Ruby Gale doing it for 
the girls with a good, clean pursuit of the boys.



The most competitive class, Rookies was again a near full gate with 36 riders combining the 4T and 2T Classes up for some fast full on battles. Josh Gilbert was flying and claimed victory in moto 1, hotly pursued by Kieran Banks in second, Josh Taylor having a blast in third. Moto 2 was a repeat performance with Gilbert first, Banks again second and Taylor third. Moto 3 saw Luke Williams breaking the pattern and deservedly taking third place from Josh Taylor, wrapping up the Rookies result with Gilbert first, Banks second and Williams third.

MX2 was an exhibition in how to ride the Landrake track and with a full gate we knew it was going to make for some furious action. Dan Thornhill reassuringly took all three motos with Olly Jones and Ryan Davis entertaining the spectators with their own race for second.

MX1 was the last group but kicked off nicely with Ryan Allen securing a first and then DNF in moto 2 but Alex Hussey, Dan Banwell and Scott Ardren grappling their way for overall results.

A huge thank you to Phil Congdon for his terrific track preparation and SSMX committee and helpers – it made for some awesome riding and a terrific weekend.
