Paulin finds confidence in Loket

Welcomed sunshine and drier racing conditions at the Czech Motocross GP for round 12 saw Gautier Paulin post 8th overall on the hillside circuit in Loket over the weekend.

With track conditions being one-lined Paulin knew it was important to grab a good start which he did in moto 1. He quickly moved past team-mate Xavier Boog into 3rd however a few mistakes allowed Max Nagl and Clement Desalle to pass. Paulin then strung a set of consistent laps together to finish a strong 5th.

A tight first turn in second moto and some bar banging left Paulin out of the top 20. He had to fight all he could to salvage 11th place with passing made very difficult on the slick one lined track.

Gautier Paulin: “I had a good feeling with the bike this weekend, and after a good start in the first race I was able to battle for a top five result; I made a few mistakes, but I had good lap times in the last part of the race. I got caught up with other riders in the first few corners of race two and I was only eighteenth at the end of the first lap. I found some places to pass and recovered to eleventh; it’s difficult to make passes here! But I’m pretty happy as I have a good feeling on the bike again, and we’ll continue to train in Holland to be stronger in the last GPs.”
