RHAYADER Youth Motocross Club continues to go from strength to strength.
The club held its annual awards evening at Rhayader Leisure Centre when Factory KTM rider and MX2 British champion Shaun Simpson was the guest of honour.
The BSMA Welsh Awards were presented with Brooklyn Evans stealing the show in this category winning all three rounds with ease.
Second overall was the outstanding Ryan Rowlands who rode out of his skin this year improving all the time while third place was went to Jamie Evans with all three tipped for bright futures.
Alex Walton won the junior class from Will Jones who showed amazing strength and guts throughout his season with some brilliant battles against his good friend Walton while Connor Clewett was third.
Ciran Williams took first place in the Inter-85 group from to Ben Nicholls who ended with a great result after pushing himself hard during the three Welsh rounds. Local rider Hywel Mills settled for a very strong third place overall showing fantastic ability and putting on a great display for the spectators.
Aled Thomas was king in the Inter-Open class winning all three Welsh rounds with Adam Morris taking an excellent second place trophy with ease while Ryan Waters ended third.
In the seniors it was ever talented Dan Evans who took home all three round wins in first overall with shear guts and true enthusiasm.
Second overall went to the ever fast Gareth Hughes who had a brilliant season while Tom Nicholls’ reward for consistency was third place.
Chris Morris won the older class by two points from Luke Davies with Chris Walton clinching third place.
Shaun presented the RYMXC Club Championship Awards to the Autos and the champ of all champs was Brooklyn Evans who has won every round.
In the juniors Jack Edmondson – eldest son of World Enduro Rider Paul Edmondson – was crowned 2008 champion and has ridden in a class of his own all year.
A very proud second overall went to the talented Alex Walton with Will Jones extremely pleased to settle for third.
Hywel Mills is 2008 champion in the Inter-85 showing great determination and spirit with some excellent battles with fellow riders with Adam James pulling it out the bag when it mattered to clinch second. A well deserved third went to Joel Hughes.
The Inter-Open group included a strong field but Aled Thomas completed an outstanding season with victory. Adam Morris was delighted to take second place and Ben Francis was third.
Chris Morris took home the glory in the AMX class with great class and effort from Luke Davies and Wyn Hope carried home some good positions to take home the third place trophy.
The Mick Simms Memorial Trophy Riders-Rider – voted for by all the riders as they come into the awards on the night – was shared by Ben Evans of Rhayader and Brooklyn Evans of Gwystre.
The Chloe Price Award for best local rider was won by Chris Morris, who was delighted to have won the coveted trophy open to riders from within a 15-mile radius of Rhayader.
