Stevanage SSC bask in sunshine

Round 4 of the Stevenage Club Championship took place at Whaddon, Near Milton Keynes. With a weekend of summer sunshine, the track was heavily watered to control the dust, making a slippery start to the day.

The Inter 125’s were first up the start straight, with some close racing between Craig Smith who took 1st place and Mitchell Smith who came in 2nd place after having a race win for the first time. A consistent Richard Carter took 3rd.

The Expert Seniors once again saw Keith Gillett take maximum points. Adam Rogers secured three 2nd’s and John McAleer came home in 3rd place.

In the Expert Plus group, fast action saw Kevin Gomm take 1st place followed in 2nd by his brother Chris Gomm and Billy Raffle placed 3rd after a win in the first race.

The Inter 100’s were up the hill next, with a tie on points for Rob Nicoll, who has recently changed to a four stroke machine, and Tom Crittenden who placed 2nd, with Jamie Game securing 3rd place.

The Inter 85’s Adam Day looked unstoppable taking the first two race wins, but a crash saw him finish third in the last race, still giving him the overall win of the day. Ryan Simpson had a race win giving him 2nd place and Macaulay Madden took 3rd.

Jake Edey in the Juniors took 1st place with two race wins. Joe Noble came in 2nd place with his first ever race win and Ronnie Klimek took 3rd place of the day.

The Auto 65cc class saw every rider finish consistently with Harvey Buttriss taking maximum points, Toby Avis all 2nd places and Jake Barsby all 3rd’s. Sam Bebee took 4th place followed home in 5th by Luke Arrowsmith.

The 50cc Auto’s saw the same pattern with all consistent riders finishing in the same places. Maximum points went to Connor Fish, Callum Rhead finished 2nd and 3rd place went to Alfie Ruckwood. Bradley Cook came in 4th.
