There was a great turn out for the YMSA championship 2 at Sherwood. The weather was on our side and with a freshly prepared track the conditions were perfect for racing.

Cameron Box was off to a great start for the autos claiming the first win of the day. Box battled hard with Luke Dolman in the second race but just lost out letting Dolman take the win. Jude Turton wanted a piece of the action battling with Box for 2nd place but Box wasn’t going to give positions over easily and push Turton back to 3rd. By the third race of the day Box was back on form taking 1st place leaving the rest to battle it out behind him. Dolman rolled in 2nd and 2nd place overall, Turton a constant 3rd, and Lewis Cooper a constant 4th.

Logan Wilcox was hot on the wheels of Jayden Wright who made hole shot in the first race for the 65’s. Wrights lead did not last long as Wilcox pushed his way to the front. Wilcox was more determined in the second race leading from the off and claiming all three win overall. Dalton Dring was off to a good start battling with the front runners in the first race. An unfortunate DNF left Dring in 10th place overall even after a gallant effort in the following two races and two well earned 2nd place finishes.

Callum Green looked set to have a good day for the small wheel 85’s but an unfortunate DNF in the second race and a failure to start the third left Green in 10th place overall. Ben Burridge went from strength to strength after a 2nd and two 1st place finishes.

Jake Taylor had reason to celebrate after two wins in races two and three and 1st place overall. Whereas Lewis Grainger had to work hard for his overall 3rd after battles throughout and a best finish of 3rd in the final race of the day.

The senior class saw Kenny Ryalls claim hole shot and the win in their first race of the day. James Henderson had a great run coming in 2nd but was off the pace in the following races finishing a disappointing 8th place overall. Alex Hilton on the other hand got off to a bad start finishing 9th in the first race but improved to claim two 2nd place finishes and a well deserved 2nd place overall.

After taking the win in the first race for the Adult A’s Lee Harrison failed to start the final race and finished a disappointing 10th place overall. Alex Rach and Paul Burn were neck and neck into the first bend for the second race for the A’s but Matt Stephenson pushed his way past both riders stealing the win with Rach 2nd and Burn 3rd.

Shaun Bamford had a perfect run with three wins for the Adult B’s and Joe Tueman collected some good championship points coming in 2nd overall. Further down the pack Chris Worthington and Lee Huddlestone were battling in all races for over all positions of 6th and 7th with Worthington just getting the upper hand.

With a full gate the Adult C races had battles throughout. All riders appeared equally matched with lots of position switching. Day member Martin Briggs managed to claim the win in the first race but tough competition from Jamie Croft and Scott Harper pushed him back to 3rd in the second race. Shane Parkin managed to steal the lead mid race in the third race of the day after a battle with Scott Harper earning him 4th overall.

It was a great start to the season for the YMSA with the first championship at Sherwood. The weather was on our side and the track was in perfect condition ready for the autos to kick off the day’s racing.

All the autos were off to a flying start with Jack worth taking the lead into the first corner and Jude Turton hot on his heel. Worth was unable to maintain his lead finishing 5th and 4th overall. Cameron Box pushed his way to front to claim the win and made sure he lead from the start of the second race with hole shot. Box went on to win all three races. Turton had a good clean run in the first race finishing 2nd but a fall in the second and third races meant he had to work extra hard. His determination shows as he earned himself another two 2nd place finishes. A special mention has to go to Ella Tomlinson who had her sixth birthday and her first race on Sunday. Tomlinson finished a fantastic 8th place overall.

Logan Wilcox had a great start to the season with three wins for the juniors. Jayden Wright had a close call with Oliver Foxon for 3rd and 4th in the first race until Finn O’Malley decided to join the fun and pushed Foxon back to 5th. O’Malley was hot on the pace in the second race when he chased Wilcox into the first corner but O’Malley was overtaken by Aaron Brown who finished 2nd and 2nd place overall, Wright 3rd overall and O’Malley 4th.

The S/W’s Callum Green took all top spots with ease and Ben Burridge was a constant 2nd. Danny Clarke pushed his way into 3rd in the first racer but couldn’t keep the pace in the follow two races finishing 5th overall behind Kurtis Griffiths and Brogan Johnson who had to battle it out for 3rd and 4th.Griffiths got the upper hand with 3rd place.

All the riders were off to a flying start in the first race for the B/W’s. Jack Naylor won the day with three straight wins followed by Tanner Pattison who was a constant 2nd. Joe Oak Smith managed to bag 3rd place overall with three 4th place finished after an unfortunate DNF in the third race for Shane Sheriff who had had two 3rd places. Sheriff finished the day with an overall 9th place.

James Henderson had a fantastic start making hole shot in the first race for the seniors. The race had to be restarted but this did not appear to affect Henderson who went on to win the race after being chased by Alex Hilton and Luke Atkinson. Hilton managed to steal the win in the second race but Henderson was back on form in the third to bag the win and earn top spot overall. Atkinson had a constant 3rd in all three races.

The adult B class saw Chris Worthington get off to a flying start in the first race but he dropped off that pace finishing 7th, with his best finish of 4th in the final race of the day. Shaun Bamford had a fantastic run with three 1st place finishes after battling with Andrew Cooper.

There was a great size gate for the adult C class. The top three riders appeared equally matched by position switching throughout. Spencer Commons was off to a great start winning the first race but unfortunately did not finish the second and failed to start the third. Keeten Leatherland claimed 1st overall and managed to bag a win in the final race. Scott Harper was runner up but managed to earn himself a win in the second race of the day after a battle with Leatherland.

Riders lined up on the start gate at Finningley in near perfect conditions for the YMSA’s championship 14. The previous days rain held off long enough to complete the days racing.

The young autos were the first to battle it out with day member Charlie Heyman having a fantastic run, bagging 1st in all three races, with Oliver Woods and Ben Clarke fighting between themselves for 2nd and 3rd.

Kain Cullingwood tried hard for hole shot in the first race for the juniors but missed out to Lewis Hall who went on to win all three races. Cullingwood dropped off the pace to finish 6th followed by a 5th place and failed to start the final race finishing a disappointing 15th overall.

The small wheel 85’swere dominated by Callum Green who effortlessly won all three races. Jake Waterworth got off to a bad start finishing 6th in the first race but fought to get back on form to take 3rd in the following two races finishing 3rd overall.

The big wheels got off to a flying start with Jack Naylor taking an early lead. The race had to be re-started after a red flag where Naylor made a repeat performance and went on to win all three races.

The seniors saw Macauley Madden start the day on good form finishing 1st in the first race but failed to finish the second race of the day due to a broken chain. Madden made hole shot in the third race but got stuck in the gate when the race was re-started after a red flag finishing a disappointing 20th and 18th overall.

There was a lot of exciting battles throughout all of the races for the A’s with James Batty picking up the paces after a 4th place finish in the first race to take the win from James Lassu in the second race. The two battled in out in the last race of the day with Lassu bagging the win and claiming 1st place overall.

Ashley Powell fought hard against Shaun Bamford to earn his 1st place in the first race of the day for the adult B’s, but missed out to Bamford in the following races. James Mycock battled hard against Will Stafford in all three races with position switching throughout. Mycock managed to get the upper hand finishing 3rd overall.

Sonny Lowther got off to a great start for the C’s but failed to keep the pace finishing 6th. Lowthers pace increased as the day went on has his positions improved to 4th then finally 2nd claiming 4th overall.

It was another adrenaline fuelled day for the Y.M.S.A and the 12th championship at Dalton. The sky was clear, the sun was shining and the track had been carefully graded ready to race.

The mighty autos were first out. The track was still wet from earlier preparations making it slippery in places for the first race but that did not seem to affect the young riders. All riders got off to a flying start with Ben Clark, Oliver Woods and Kieran Danby battling for the top three spots. Oliver managed to steal a 1st place form Ben Clark in the second race of the day but a broken chain at the start of race three put him out of the running, placing him a disappointing 9th place overall.

The junior 65’s were next out with Lewis Hall having a great day getting a clean sweep in all three races. Danny Clark gave Hall a good run for his money coming in 2nd although Lewis Wood was hot on his wheels in the third race getting 3rd and a 3rd place overall.

The S/W 85 saw Daniel Shepherd make hole shot in the first race. He held on to the position throughout the race but did not manage to repeat the action in the following races with Ben Burridge taking 1st place. Connor Murfin had a great improvement in the second race coming in 4th after finishing 7th in race one. Unfortunately a broken chain in the third race saw Murfin roll in 17th but still managed a respectable 8th place overall.

The first race for the B/W was red flagged after 8 minutes and the result was taken from the previous lap making Will Jeonney the winner. He went on to earn himself hole shot and 1st place in the second race and hole shot again in race three but missed out on the win to Jack Naylor.

The three senior races were dominated by Alexander Hilton who took the top spot in all races, followed by Luke Atkinson 2nd. Ashley Wheelhouse just lost out to claiming another 3rd place in the last race after a battle with John Foster.

The Adult A races were filled with battles throughout with James Nottingham and Thomas Wightman having a great fight for 2nd in the first race and another battle in the second race for 3rd. Adam Stafford and Gareth Smart came to blows in all races to fight it out for 9th and 10th with each rider managing to get the upper hand during the day .Stafford finished the day on top claiming 8th places over all, just one point over Smart. Ryan Bruce had an excellent day taking the win in all three races.

Will Stafford had a good start to the day claiming hole shot in the first race for the Adult B but lost out on the win to Chris Lawson. Stafford started well in the following race but again could not keep the pace finishing 5th then things went from bad to worse with a 10th place in the final race of the day giving him a 5th place over all. Chris Lawson bagged 1st place overall.

Adult C had the largest gate of the day with 31 riders lined up ready to race. All riders got off to a good start in the first race with a very tight battle for hole shot between many of the riders with Craig Harrison just having the edge then going on for the win. Harrison unfortunately missed out on the win in the following two races to Andy Hall.

It was a scorching start for the riders at Milton Malser for the Y.M.S.A’s championship 11. The track had been heavily watered to make it last the day, but it also made it a tough and sticky first race.

The young auto riders were first out on the tough track and with the sun beaming down they were in for a difficult day. The riders gave it their all with battles throughout. Day member Charlie Palmer bagged a well deserved 1st place over Kieran Austin, and Harvey Gaine with Oliver Woods’s coming 4th. As the track started to dry and harden Oliver picked up the pace and claim 1st in the following two races. Mid pack day member Hayden Crook fought well in all races against Y.M.S.A member Aidan Tomlinson to take 9th place overall beating Aidan by just one point.

Danny Clarke gave Lewis Hall a great battle for hole shot in the first race for the juniors but failed to keep up with the pack finishing 3rd to Eddie Wade 2nd, and Lewis Hall 1st. Lewis went on to have a great day winning all three races. Whereas Danny finished the last race in 11th after taking a fall.

It was a small gate for the small wheel 85’s but that did not make it any less entertaining. All riders appeared evenly matched, as the track continued to change throughout the day so did the riders finishing positions. Day member Callum Green took 1st position in the first two races finishing 1st overall.

Ashley Wheelhouse worked hard to gain his 3rd position overall for the big wheels, finishing 7th in the last race after a fall while fighting for 2nd place against Jack Naylor. Day member Robert Yates raced with ease and seemed to be unaffected by the heat bagging first in all three races.

The riders in the senior class seemed to be consistent with Macauley Madden, Dan Whitehead and Jacob Bentley taking the top three spots leaving Jamie Carpenter and James Henderson to fight for 4th and 5th with Jamie finishing on top.

Adult A was another small grid but the riders still had a difficult days racing with the heat and ever changing track conditions. Thomas Batty managed to get to grips with the track by the last race to take his first win of the day after a shocking 10th place finish in the first race. Harry Lawrence took the win in the first two races and 1st place overall.

Adult B and C classes were thrown in together but scored separate which lead to some very interesting racing. Will Stafford had a fantastic start for the Adult B’s finishing 1st in the first two races but had a disappointing DNF in the final race resulting in him finishing 10th overall. Adult C’s saw Sean Hart take the win in all three races with Sonny Lowther and Mark Burchell having to fight for their positions of2nd and 3rd.

Despite the rain, the turnout for the first YMSA championship round was fantastic. Over 250 riders signed on in the morning, meaning 5 out of 8 full gates. Ed Bradley and his team had spent the time preparing the track to perfection but unfortunately the weather didn’t hold off for the days racing. The rain came down hard and did not show any sign of stopping, at one point it was even trying to snow! Riders fought hard to get round the slippery track at Doncaster Moto Parc but it seemed like they were fighting a losing battle. Due to the weather and the conditions of the track, the race day was complete after one block of races.

After a night of snow, the YMSA were up early to confirm that the first Winter round was still going ahead. Thank you to all riders who persevered to compete despite the frosty weather conditions.

The Senior riders were first out to brave the snowy track. Kurtis Williams was on top form today as he took the lead in both races one and three to take the top spot in this class. Josh Bentley took the win in the second race and finished in second in the other two races. Jake Keogan had a good days riding and took the points for third overall.

In the Adult Open A class there was victory for Cory Nemeth in race one but it was Carlton Husband who took the points for the overall win. Thomas Batty kept his speed up throughout the day and came second in each race, securing his overall second position. Cory took overall third for the day.

In the Adult Open B class, John Lightfoot’s three wins from three secured him the overall win. Lewis Ellis took second on the day with his two third place finishes and a second in the final race. Third overall went to James Mycock.

It was a mixed day for the riders in the Adult Open C class. Both Reece Eason and Declan Helliwell finished on equal points but it was Reece who took the chequered flag in race one. This meant that he took the overall win leaving Declan to settle with second overall. Paul Jackson took third overall with the results 4-4-3.

Troy Willerton displayed some great riding in the Big Wheel 85 class and taking the overall with two race wins out of the three, The final race win went to Daniel Neal but his twelfth place finish in race one left him with third overall. Joe Jacques improved as the day went on with results 4-3-2, leaving him in second overall.

James McFaydon stormed all three races in the Small Wheel class ahead of Aaron Hanson who finished second overall with the results 2-3-3. Denny Rapson took third overall.

The Junior riders rode hard to make their way around the track and it was Rossi Beard who took three consecutive race wins to take the top spot overall. Lewis Hall pushed hard for his second place finish in race one but was then challenged in the next two races by Declan Hunter. Declan finished second overall while Lewis finished in third.

Despite the snow, the turnout of riders for the Auto class was fantastic. Many even competing in their first ever race, showing determination at a young age. Race one saw Ben Clark take the race win, followed by Leon Travis and Oliver Foxon. The results for race two were slightly different with Leon taking the win, Jude McKenzie coming in second and Keeton Cooper in third. Ben took the chequered flag again for race three, securing his overall win. Leon finished second overall with Oliver finishing third.

Hants and Dorset youth motocross club met for round three at the Silent Woman,Wareham and as always seems to be the case when riding here the weather was scorching. World veteran Terry House arrived at the circuit eager for some sand practice ahead of the following Valkenswaard GP but unfortunately a broken ankle suffered whilst hunting down the visiting Lewis Trickett in the first expert heat ended his day early.

Dean Cummings certainly meant business and showed his older brother Lee how to ride with three fantastic wins in the expert group, Lee Cummings himself coming third overall behind Steve Bain who did well to charge through the pack after awful starts all day only to find Dean had checked out for the win.

In the novice group Rich Burridge nearly threw the overall top spot away in the last heat, after winning the first two he decided to take a sand sample in the last which opened the door for Mark Aldridge to roll back the years and take a win. Carl Robinson was never far away from these two and completed the top three.

Karl Dudman took a stunning win in the first senior race but unfortunately his lack of bike time these last few months opened the door in the other two blocks for the two Barfoot boys,Adam and Bradley to storm to the front and take the one-two.

In the 100′s Jamie Strange, with one eye on a big midweek football match, rode a near perfect day and took the honours ahead of Jordan Comer who managed to keep Jack Alderton and his ktm at bay.

Jamie Carpenter not only won the day in the 85′s but certainly put a cat amongst the pigeons by beating a few of the front runners in the 100′s who ran together for the day, a feat similarly achieved by both Aaron Christopher and Jack Sherwin. Harrison Whittle was first overall in the Junior group and bagged some valuable championship points. In the auto’s Cain Marsh had a fantastic day on what is a tough track for his little bike, another first overall was to be his. Travis Reynolds never gave up and was rewarded with the runner-up spot ahead of Brad Cummings.

Swanmore was the venue for round two of the Hants And Dorset youth motocross championship and two full days of rain prior to the event was not enough to stop the loyal members do battle on what turned out to be a fantastic day on a great circuit.

Three different race winners was the order of the day in the novice group, the first race going to Rich Burridge which was not only his first ever race win but ensured him off taking the overall spoils for the first time. Returning member Jack French came second overall with Andy Curtis in third both with one race win apiece also. Jamie Strange carried on where he left off at foxholes to use his home advantage at the track and take overall in the BW 85 group after sharing success during the day with visitor Mickey Denton while Jack Alderton stepped up to take the runner up spot closely followed by Tommy Dorran.

Club member Aaron Christopher was first overall followed by Thomas Shutler in the SW85′S but visitor Jamie Cox deserves a mention to take all three wins on the day.

New member Cain Marsh took first overall with three race wins in the Auto group but had to work really hard for the third win after taking a tumble, While Travis Reynolds beat Joseph Leyland for second overall.

The Seniors were as competitive as ever and new member Dave Roberts took two wins but was beaten in the other encounter by Bradley Barfoot who was to be the highest place finisher of ‘Team Barfoot’ on the day! Kai Hunterwood has been a model of consistency these last two meetings and with another three thirds for third overall he now leads the way in the championship.

After a great start to his national campaign the previous week Lewis Trickett returned to the club in the expert group and quite literally blew the cobwebs from ‘GP Nige’s’ beloved 125cc Suzuki.

Local member Craig Durston was first overall on his Honda while the stylish Steve Bain had to be content with the runner up position this week ahead of Jason Conner.
