Pirelli takes its 58 World MX title winning tyres to the popular AMCA Wulfsport British Masters Motocross Championship, becoming a major sponsor of the series. The agreement will see Pirelli running competitions to give free tyres as prizes and three lucky riders a dream trip to the Ricky Carmichael University!

Pirelli has offered up a large number of their market leading Scorpion MX tyres as prizes for riders in the two main classes – which will now be known as Pirelli MX1 and Pirelli MX2. To support racers using Pirelli, the best performing riders will be eligible for these free tyres to keep down the cost of racing at this important grassroots series.

The Pirelli rider with the best results from these two classes and the exciting Youth Mini Masters division will be picked to spend time at the unique Ricky Carmichael University. Riders will get a fantastic riding experience with this US MX legend which can only help their future racing progression. The series will also benefit from a guest appearance from CLS Kawasaki and Pirelli MX star Tommy Searle, probably the UK’s most promising young rider.

The AMCA Wulfsport British Masters Championship has a long and proud history acting as a breeding ground for talented motocross riders. The depth of talent in both the MX1 and MX2 classes is arguably the strongest it’s been making for close, exciting racing. There has been a knock-on effect in the IMBA series as the AMCA has performed strongly on the International stage. The widely supported series boasts impressive entries and has been won by such motocross luminaries as Jamie Dobb, Brad Anderson and Tanel Leok.

Words of advice from the GOAT

Getting the chance to ride with the GOAT isn’t something you’d pass up. Last week at FatCat Motopark in the UK, Ricky Carmichael’s University landed on European shores to be greeted by salivating up ‘n coming riders – hungry for their chance to charge the same dirt as Ricky and fellow tutors, Jeff Emig, Tommy Searle, Jeff Stanton and Jamie Dobb. See what it meant to the guys to be mixing it up together.

With glorious sunshine throughout the day, Fox supplying some cool goodie bags and Monster Energy in attendance with their huge rig the day proved to be a huge success, one rider commented, “I’ve learned more in the last 20 minutes with Ricky Carmichael than I have in the last 3 years riding.”

People were saying beforehand it was for the rich and speedy schoolboys but the majority were 20 somethings wanting to meet and learn something new off the greatest of all time RC and I we’re sure they did in each of the 5 sections of the day.

After much anticipation, MX Sports and Ricky Carmichael are thrilled to announce the 2012 return of the highly regarded Ricky Carmichael University (RCU), now expanding to the west coast and for the first time ever, hitting European dirt for an exclusive stop in the UK.

“Due to the success of the amateur supercross, we were forced to expand RCAMSX to two days and unfortunately we weren’t able to hold RCU in Daytona anymore,” said Carmichael. “But we’re excited to be able to give students on the west coast and around the world the opportunity to take part in RCU. It’s amazing to see this turn into an international event!”

Europe’s inaugural RCU event will take place at Fat Cat Moto Parc in Doncaster, UK on Monday, June 18 and Tuesday, June 19, where students have the opportunity to learn from 15-Time Champion Ricky Carmichael. The crew will head to Lake Elsinore on Monday, September 10, following the final round of the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship.

Former champions Jeff Emig and Jeff Stanton, as well as Ricky’s mother and lifetime trainer, Mrs. Jeannie Carmichael, will join Carmichael in teaching this once in a lifetime riding school. The knowledgeable and experienced panel of instructors will teach students everything from proper body positioning, to utilizing organized drills focusing on flat turns, rhythm sections and improved braking techniques.
